Liam Ryan seems like a strange one. I know he's been a very good player but he has kicked 30 goals in his career once and looks to be past his best. Definitely not the age demographic is expect us to be targetting.
What would his trade value be?
We’re giving him a million per year. (This is not true by the way but, what the heck, we’re offering everyone else millions so why not.)Jiath is a gun. Why would Hawthorn let him go?
It'd look even better with Mitch Owens. It's the age of the small forward and we have a really thin brigade. Ryan doesn't have to kick 50 goals, he needs to pressure and score against the flow. King deep, Sharman, Hall, Snags and Ryan and one of Butler/Hammer/Keeler/Collard/Henry, looks a really good potent line.
The back 6 is the most suspect line now.

And Caminiti. It'd look even better with Mitch Owens.
I just realised, you get to go full gringo next year and it’s going to be entirely justified - because the expectations are going to be equal to yours. It's the age of the small forward and we have a really thin brigade. How exciting for you.
OK, but we'd have to draft him. Currently we only have Owens the forward.Maybe it’s time to unleash Owens the mid
I’m on your side here.Nothing wrong with having high expectations. Amazing how pressure can elevate a side. Dogs after their captain walked out. Tigers after threats to spill the board and sack the coach etc.
I wouldn't mind giving this a go at some point.Actually I wouldn't mind sticking Owens into the defence. His kicking is iffy on goal but quite neat in the field. He'd replace Battle.
If we pull off all these moves. The 23 is stacked. People are going to have to be more multi positionalOK, but we'd have to draft him. Currently we only have Owens the forward.
He would be a walking free kick. Imagine that physicality on some of those softie forwards.Actually I wouldn't mind sticking Owens into the defence. His kicking is iffy on goal but quite neat in the field. He'd replace Battle.

I can’t see how we play both with that potential list next year.If we get to the point that Steele and Macrae are depth players, we have arrived.

We have more cap space than you can imagine and half our squad is under 22. Already have a ton of young small forwards.Wouldn’t you be better off getting his money off your books and getting time into a younger player. Not trying to be a smart ass but sos won’t give up anything good for him. Not a massive need so we would just walk away
Where has the Jiath story come from?Jiath is a gun. Why would Hawthorn let him go?
I think the context is misconstrued with this. Are we going to have to pay overs because Ryan is contracted at WC next season ? Same how Lyon said St.Kilda will hold firm on contracted players like Steele and Marshall ?
