Of course it's biased.........
The only problem with that is Carlton play more games at the G than the Hawks do.Interesting stat here.
NO Docklands tenant has finished in the top 4 since GWS entered the league and it expanded to 18 teams. Literally 15 years where Carlton, , Essendon, North, Bulldogs and St Kilda have been basically shut out. Bulldogs had two amazing runs to the GF from outside the top 4, which is pretty incredible in hindsight. Carlton made a prelim but stalled playing away in Brisbane. That's basically it.
In that time span ALL of the MCG tenants have won a premiership. Of the non Melbourne teams all have made a GF except Port and GC, and Port have twice lost home prelim finals.
Maybe this thread should be about the clear systematic bias faced by Docklands teams?
That's not a Vic bias thing, it's a Collingwood thing. They're used to getting the rub of the green. Their game plan's revolved around it for years.
Richmond, on the other hand, gets reamed week in, week out since 2017. Never a word mentioned.
It's a travesty that Geelong finished top 2, with their pathetic 9-4 record in games away from Geelong in 2025.The only problem with that is Carlton play more games at the G than the Hawks do.
It is just a bias against Melbourne teams.
Who would have guessed an SA team and Geelong are top2 at the end of H&A season again.
12th time in the 21st century an SA side has finished top2, and 11th time Geelong have.
Playing at two neutral grounds isn't as advantageous as actually retaining a strong home ground.

It gets broadcast nationally, but Victoria is it's biggest market and thus it gets the most coverage. I don't know how you can expect that to change. It's like expecting the city of Newcastle to receive as much coverage in the News as the city of Sydney. Or expecting Norwood footy club to receive as much coverage as Port.
Complaints about the broadcasters impact on fixturing are legit. But media targetting the bigger market? What can you do to change that?
Vic bias my arse
umpiring at edihad or mcg is nothing like what teams cop when they go interstate.
Adelaide Oval or back in the day Perth etc
Watch Collingwood v Adelaide or Suns v Port at Adelaide Oval last 2 weeks if you still don´t get it.
Maybe you can’t change it, doesn’t mean that it’s not true and it’s the dominating perspective.
I also believe it impacts what the average punter thinks about the game.
Can I suggest a new thread titled something along the lines of "No, my club is the biggest victim"? You and Grin can continue the discussion there.this is bullshit. Richmond gave away a lot of frees because their game style but proper umpiring would have seen them concede a lot more
Ahhhh, So a Vic club getting the rub of the green = VICBias conspiracy. Outrageous, unbearable injustice.this is bullshit. Richmond gave away a lot of frees because their game style but proper umpiring would have seen them concede a lot more
I was reflecting his argument back to him to see what his response would be.Can I suggest a new thread titled something along the lines of "No, my club is the biggest victim"? You and Grin can continue the discussion there.

Where as a Vic club not getting the rub of the green = Nothing to see here. It's the way they play.
I thought that little trap would be way too obvious, even for you VICBias cookers.
I was reflecting his argument back to him to see what his response would be.
His response was predictable.
No they don’tI didn’t even bing up average umpiring performances. That was you playing the victim not me, I’m just responding to your claim that Richmond are hard done by.
My original point is that the media harps on when Victorian clubs think they’re the one getting the tough end, not who gets it more.

No they don’t
They harp on when Collingwood gets the rough end
Conspiracy myth busted
You’ll need to find something else to wine about![]()
The VICBias conspiracy, for which you claimed you have irrefutable evidence. What conspiracy?
The only one claiming there’s a conspiracy is you, about Richmond?
I dont think that will bother them too much. What they'll desperately be hoping doesn't happen is no prelims in MelbourneAFL won't be too happy with only one final in Victoria in the first week.
They might be disappointed as I'd back both of Adelaide and Brisbane to win their respective games.I dont think that will bother them too much. What they'll desperately be hoping doesn't happen is no prelims in Melbourne
I may have bias in the Brisbane game but I think both non-Victorian teams should go into the qualifying finals as favourites.I dont think that will bother them too much. What they'll desperately be hoping doesn't happen is no prelims in Melbourne

Happy to get 55k in Adelaide, 60k in Perth and 90k at the G in week 1.I dont think that will bother them too much. What they'll desperately be hoping doesn't happen is no prelims in Melbourne
I and most Geelong supporters agree about the Brisbane game.I may have bias in the Brisbane game but I think both non-Victorian teams should go into the qualifying finals as favourites.
Berry will be a big in for us, it sounds like Neale will play in the first final as well.Bookies have Geelong and Adelaide favourites at this stage but who knows, it's too far off yet to even know about player availability, weather etc. Will Neale get up to play for example?
I'm more confident because this game is at the MCG rather than at the Gabba which is strange.I and most Geelong supporters agree about the Brisbane game.
Not that we're without a chance, but Brisbane have the recent h2h form line, a more talented list and the 2024 premiership self belief. They're also better on the road than at home.
