Does Carey know that we've already traded out our first pick to Hawthorn last year as part of the Jagga deal?

This was from 2018 when we had pick 1 and ended up choosing Walsh. Carey was of the belief at the time that we should have traded it for a Frost, Bugg and the like.

Nah, other way around. You dont trade out a top 5 key forward for hayward and 3 roles players. Campbell's kicking is elite but has shown nothing to justify a late first. Crazy chat. Roberts and McInerney are genuine role players found at a lot of clubs. Certainly not core pieces in a trade for Curnow.

I 100% get what you are saying. But I stand by my comment that if it was as simple as those four coming in and Curnow going out Carlton would be a better team in 26' and in future years as well.

And on their values at the draft a player like Campbell would be a late first/early second round pick - especially in a weaker draft like this year. We would be asking for the same thing if we had a player like that on the list.

Each to their own. I don't see it. Campbell is 94 games into his career already - how much improvement is left? We see it time and time again with high draft picks, we think they will naturally evolve into a star. If i was giving up a second for him id want a future third back

Campbell is only 23 and for me is already a top 2 kick in the game with Farrell from Port. The fact that he has shown he can play multiple roles at an AFL level at this early stage of his career makes him desirable imo. If you want good kicks at Carlton there are very few better than him AND he can do it from any line.

Averages 12 disposals across his career and ranks below average for score involvements. Id suggest if we want him, we make a trade for fair value - late second/future third.

And just a bit of feedback for him - in that trade scenario, Carlton would be getting a player who was running around in the VFL this year in Florent....and another who would be pushed out of the team with the inclusion of Charlie, in Mclean.

So we'd be taking a couple of fringe players they'd be happy to part with, along with a mid first round pick. And we have to giver something back to them.
