I'm more confident because this game is at the MCG rather than at the Gabba which is strange.
If we win we have to play a PF at the Gabba which is a worry.
Yes, I'm not opposed to dropping this game, playing Fremantle at the G and Adelaide at AO (where we play well) or Collingwood. Then let Brisbane fail at the Gabba in the other prelim, where they have played half as well this year.

Interesting stat here.

NO Docklands tenant has finished in the top 4 since GWS entered the league and it expanded to 18 teams. Literally 15 years where Carlton, , Essendon, North, Bulldogs and St Kilda have been basically shut out. Bulldogs had two amazing runs to the GF from outside the top 4, which is pretty incredible in hindsight. Carlton made a prelim but stalled playing away in Brisbane. That's basically it.

In that time span ALL of the MCG tenants have won a premiership. Of the non Melbourne teams all have made a GF except Port and GC, and Port have twice lost home prelim finals.

Maybe this thread should be about the clear systematic bias faced by Docklands teams?

North made two prelims in that time 👍

Another underserved SA minor premier losing a home final.

When will the AFL fix the biased H&A fixture that keeps seeing big avg SA teams finish top2??

Probably the day after they fix the biased h&a fixture that gives the Pies a guaranteed 14 games a year at their home ground.

Unlike SA teams, who get 13 games at AO of which 11 they enjoy a significant home ground advantage against their opponent who is unfamiliar with the AO

Pies get 14 at the G, but are lucky if 5 of them with any significant advantage against an opponent who is unfamiliar with the G.

H&A season is biased towards the teams who retained a strong home ground, and play away games at familiar venues (or not even at the home ground of their opponent).

SA teams now have combined for 12 top 2 finishes, and they have lost home finals in 9 of those 12 years.

south park beat a dead horse GIF

This thread if it was Geelong that got those 2 free kicks would be a scene ☺️
The first one was 50-50, the second was 100-0.

The blatant cheerleading from Gary Lyon is downright embarrassing. I know people will say the Vic audience is bigger but this game is going out nationally and his kind of drivel shouldn’t be tolerated. What’s more, plenty of Vic fans claim they hate other Victorian teams more than non-Victorian teams, so what gives?

Most are capable of seeing incredibly bad umpiring regardless of whether it goes against a team they hate. You're just once again showing yourself to be incapable of having a valid opinion due to your incredible bias.

Talk is cheap, actions give them away.

All Vics need is a 'reason' to band together.
Last night it was the booing, tonight its the free kicks.

As I said, the first one was 50-50, not much in it but so completely off the ball as to be difficult to ignore. The second one was a free every day of the week and twice on Sundays. Rayner knew it immediately, was laughing before the free was paid.

We haven't had an all Victorian grand final at the G since....2011. It could be on the cards this year. Neutrals are ecstatic. Biases are biasing to explain it all away.

Actually, AFL would have loved a PF in Brisbane and Adelaide more. The days of the AFL banking on finals are well behind us.
Apparently it’s only the 2nd time in the past 14 years, we’ve had 2 MCG prelims. You could be right though about what they want.

It’s a national competition.
