So basically everyone and some of your no’s are stupid. I’d love to see anyone pick a 30 year old merrett over current Isaac Heeney, the bloke had 3 games kicking 5 goals playing mid forward. You mustn’t have watched much footy this yearWorse, Worse, Fair, Fair, 85% yes but depends on team, Fair bc of age, Fair, 85% yes but depends on team, obviously, obviously, fair, 85% yes but depends on team, probably, probably not, homophobe, yes, no, is a winger but sure.
Everyone bar Caldwell and Martin probablySeen enough of your list to be making that prediction very comfortably
On your board, plenty. I remember seeing many such takes leading up to round 1. It was highly amusing readingName one.
And Durham id have ahead of WeddleEveryone bar Caldwell and Martin probably

Go on, find the quotes then.On your board, plenty. I remember seeing many such takes leading up to round 1. It was highly amusing reading
this is your second shit takeEveryone bar Caldwell and Martin probably
It’s not a realistic example of the best case for them.I know it’s very u likely but trying to give the bombers fan realistic expectations of the absolute best case scenario for them.
Probably a good thing you'll never be in a position of talent acquisition thenAnd Durham id have ahead of Weddle
yeah fair call it is Merrett not talking to Scott, had that round the wrong way. Still not a good situation thoughYou realise it's the other way around don't you?
that’s like me saying yeah Merrett had 6 games with 34+ touches. Okay? I’d rather take Merrett in the middle at Hawthorn over the course of a season. Also lmao at 29 year old Heeney as if Merrett isn’t like 6 months older than him.So basically everyone and some of your no’s are stupid. Holy friendly firethis is your second shit take
I had tossed it upAnd Durham id have ahead of Weddle
You’d be wrongAnd Durham id have ahead of Weddle
that is only in the eyes of a beholder.. ask the masses, the ones without a vested interest in there own clubs player and I think you'd find it a more balanced opinionYou’d be wrong

Hawks fans saying yeah we’ll see or we’ll see next year is a new tier of rage bait that I’ve only discovered in the last 48 hours that really grinds my gears. I applaudWe shall see next year
Well you might be the only person on earth who’d pick merrett over Heeney atm, Heeney was a deadset freak this year and tore apart multiple games. I’ll admit I thought he was younger, but still doesn’t change the fact that he’s currently a better player and had a better year than merrettthat’s like me saying yeah Merrett had 6 games with 34+ touches. Last year Nic Martin 15 votes and for reference Jai Newcombe 24.That’s not how it works, the team might get more votes but he has better players taking votes from him. It’s why mid table teams always have brownlow winners because they win half their games and have no one to take votes from them. Watson, cripps, wines, Priddis all fine examples of guys who had great years but probably weren’t the best players in the league

Weedle will wipe him off the park, Martin unsightedI was talking about Martin V Weddle … Who’s the better player!
Hopefully they go head to head when the two clubs meet next year.
Zero clubs in the AFL would take Martin over Weddlethat is only in the eyes of a beholder.. ask the masses, the ones without a vested interest in there own clubs player and I think you'd find it a more balanced opinion
Eh to each their own. I think it’s partially to do with my thinking that Heeney had fallen off a bit since last year, which is true but it’s more slight than I thought and probably corresponds to the team being much much worse. I think the key to my reasoning for a lot of my takes earlier in the picking x player over Merrett is to do with the fact that it’s related to trade value to Hawthorn specifically. I think a lot of those guys are great, obviously, but I just think Merrett fits Hawthorn so much better than a lot of them. Clearly why there’s so much sauce related to the tradeWell you might be the only person on earth who’d pick merrett over Heeney atm, Heeney was a deadset freak this year and tore apart multiple games. I’ll admit I thought he was younger, but still doesn’t change the fact that he’s currently a better player and had a better year than merrett
in a vacuum sure but in reality both wa clubs would probably take Martin solely for the fact they’re close in talent (up to everyone’s own opinion about who’s ahead) and ones from here.Zero clubs in the AFL would take Martin over Weddle
That’s including Essendon
We won 3 more games than essendon last year, so no it wasn’t that much of a difference. If he comes next year I wouldn’t be surprised to see Newcombe outpoll him, just as he did the last two years. In 2023 essendon finished 11th and hawthorn 16th. Wanna have a guess at who got more votes out of the 2 that year?Last year Nic Martin 15 votes and for reference Jai Newcombe 24.
He’s better than Newcombe so if anything he takes votes off him and already had someone taking significant votes off him in a side that finished 11th.
Hawks finished 8th but won 15 games compared to Essendons 11. Delusional if you don’t think him playing for a better side doesn’t immediately push him into Brownlow contention
Brownlow medal candidate?Contracted, captain, Brownlow medal candidate. We have to be talking biggest deal of all time territory because I can’t think of a direct comparison.
Youre paying for the finished product. Even moreso if Essendon stand their ground.
