Harry Lemmey from Carlton delisted, A key forward who played some nice games in the second half of the year, West Adelaide boy who to me was a strange delisting, thought he was taking over from Charlie Curnow, still don't think he's developed fully as tall players do take time, quite interesting that the Blues pulled the plug, list spots becoming very valuable at the moment.
So his coming next week to the club on a 5 year X 800k

Jeez if only we were smart enough to draft watson and newcombe...
I never thought Watson was a North player. Fits in right where he is with the arrogant Hawks.
And I ain't about those witches/wizards hats. I think I'd be physically ill seeing North fans wearing Wizard hats.

I’d like to see us select more arrogant players and less nice introverted guys

Yep well aware. Just haven't really seen it mapped out with percentages.
I wonder what qualifies as somebody becoming a "star" as well.

They also kinda mentioned in that article about getting as many top 25 picks on the dartboard because recruiters aren't going to nail every pick. So interesting decision this year in that regard in terms of either trading up for a potential star player or taking two shots on the dartboard in the top 25 (non club-tied). I'm happy either way.

People are seriously convincing themselves that we don't need Merrett?
The problem would be the cost of two first rounders for a player you could probably only be confident of three good years from. Doesn’t exactly fit out timeline.

I just wouldn't go all in on someone who is 30 years old and will cost lots of draft capital to get them.
I don't think we've build the team yet to contend. Still a lot of work to do down back and with the depth.
He's going to leave for a Cats or Hawks anyway if he's after success, so it's pure hypothetical.

Exactly. Zac Butters would be the type you'd go all out for given he's 25 and will give you 5-8 years imo.
But highly unlikely any of those types of players choose us.

List of midfielders I'd be prepared to spend two first rounders on, given where we're at:

Matt Rowell (24)
Nick Daicos (22)
Zak Butters (25)
Finn Callaghan (22)
Harley Reid (20)
Tom Green (24)
Max Holmes (23)
Noah Anderson (24)

The list of KPFs would be longer.

Given we don't have a first rounder this year, that would require us future trading our 1st of 26 and 27, meaning we wouldn't have taken a 1st rounder in 3 years. Is that even possible??

Otherwise we would have to give up a LDU type to get back into the 1st round.

It was intended as a position of valuation rather than a serious trading strategy mate.

Again, I don’t think nice/not nice - introverted/extroverted are mutually exclusive.

The greatest player of the last decade - Martin was a complete introvert. Didn’t stop him being a stone-cold killer on field.

Just bring in players who can win and lead.

Dusty was introverted

But he’s got mongrel and that quiet arrogance

That’s the type of player I want
Players who are confident and want to take the game on

Lol what? We would be fleecing Adelaide with a straight swap
Just jumping in.

Could be a win win. Powell is obviously very talented but I'm not 100% sure he would help fix our midfield, and I havent watched him as close as North fans would have, but I can confirm Butts is a fantastic player.

A Daniel Talia replica. Has struggled with his body a bit but as a pure lockdown tall defender he is brilliant, and as a crows fan I would actually prefer we keep him and play him ahead of Murray.
