We've already got a good LordMay & now Stephenson
Good lord!
It ended up being found on the ground. One positive if we did get May is that Frankie would be able to get his tooth back.
My take is that Charlie and his manager were all keen and excited to sign up for a 6 year extension in Aug 2022.I think there’s a lot of over confidence re us being in the box seat with Charlie. Yes there’s examples of players coming back but there’s a lot of noise he has no interest in coming back to us. Most players who go nuclear get traded. We realistically won’t hold him to his contract if he’s mentally completely checked out.
I think we will find we will just need to take the best deal possible. Gone are the thoughts of we will need to noticeably win the trade. I fear a lot will be disappointed
Played division 4 EFNL this year, I was a huge fan of his in his draft year and his first AFL season, that player would be amazing but that was a long time ago."Stephenson has personally approached several AFL clubs, including Port Adelaide and Carlton, to gauge their interest in him, according to three sources who confirmed on the condition of anonymity his wish to return to the top level."

Div 4No to Stephenson for mine. Didn't appear to rip Div 3 Eastern apart.
Stig Jackson OW! (as log as he doesn't Beat It)Not sure why you are grabbing your groin but yeah, that’s about it![]()
Who give a flying **** what Charlie’s idea of a pass mark for the club is?!? If he stays around he needs to pull his finger out. His effort this season was nothing short of disgraceful. If Charlie stays ... Carlton need to rise to a Top 6 team to keep him happy I reckon.
Means the team is playing well and Charlie is kicking Goals
My guess is that if Carlton hang around 12th in 2026 ... Charlie won't be happy with that and will want to leave again at the end of next season. Carlton needs to improve ... and quickly.
If Carlton end up 12th ... Voss will probably go. Maybe that may change his mind..?
All guesswork
Collingwood won 17 games and are in the preliminary final, likely to make the grand final, with a midfield of Pendlebury and Sidebottom who are a couple years younger than Jesus and Moses…May, Newman and Haynes in the same back-line? Would be the oldest defence since the Walls of Jericho.
Yeah those 2 Homes for Geriatrics .. Geelong and Collingwood aren't doing too badlyWatch May toddle of to Oldiewood.
Fit right in.
Lol we've absolutely s*** stomped Geelong purely through contested ball demolitions the last few years.Carlton have been doing that for 50 years .. The Garry Crane, Chris Yarran, Fisher types .. now Cerra .. Jagga
Carlton have preferred talent over strong bodies. West Coast back in the Day and currently Geelong go the big bodies and it is obvious we get battered in the contest by these ruthless beasts.
Gee ... It's not a Carlton Gentleman's Club in here is it eh?Speaking absolute nonsense.
It most certainly is.....I'm currently sitting on the leather chesterfield in my dressing gown and cravat, sipping on a 16year old single malt and sucking on a stogie.....Gee ... It's not a Carlton Gentleman's Club in here is it eh?
Or you could just do what almost everyone else does... spread and run rings around us...
Wait for us to butcher our i50 entry and rebound with little to no resistance...
Cover the left wing because that's where 99% of our kicks from hb go...
Apply manic f50 pressure to generate stoppages in our d50 and waltz into goals from those...
The list goes on... bashing us is literally one of the most, if not, the most inefficient way of beating us...
Yep. Have to hope Chesser and a few other additions along with a fit Walsh and Jagga can fix that balance a touch in 2026.I have to agree - Hewett, Cripps, Pitto, etc. unlikely to be too worried about a "bashing".
Just ask one of our guys to try to kick a football into the F50 and they'll soon retract into the fetal position anyway... job done.
Stats probably look better due to taking a lot of kick insI havent seen him play this year, but based on stats alone, he is very much on par with what he has done for the last 5 or 6 season. Even improved stats wise over last year in some statistical categories.
He might be an absolute shit****, but a one year deal with an option for a second might be worth a serious look at as a short term option.
I absolutely dont hate it.
I hope so. I just think a first and Flanders for instance may well be enough for us rather than take the risk. And that’s far from what I’m wanting to be clear.
I guess what I’m saying is it all depends on what the club think is the issue and reason for him wanting out
Why?Should we put Cerra on the trade table as well?
And if he isn't traded and stinks it up next year the board needs to go! maybe not so simple.Flanders and a first for Charlie Curnow ?(the same Charlie Curnow with a four year contract and has won 2 of the last 3 Coleman Medals, our marquee player all over the membership packs, kids merch and pretty much every Carlton supporter under 12s favourite player?)
It’s quite simple this is a BIG football AND Business decision for this club.. this deal requires board approval with the following considerations to be front and centre
Football
List management
Membership
Finance
Culture (club and player)
This is not some free agent or pre agent we’re talking about here. This is an asset (yes asset) the club owns (yes owns) for four more years.
If he’s traded for Flanders and a first the board needs to go!! Simple as that.
People need to snap out of it!
This is what I’m saying is a fallacy. The power (although it shouldn’t be) really rests 90% with the player. The only way Charlie is an asset to us if he is willing to play and put in. If you own a depreciating asset like a Porsche and all of sudden you walk out to your garage and find it’s unlikely to go above 80km an hour next year, you sell it for arguably under market value but get at least something for it.Flanders and a first for Charlie Curnow ?(the same Charlie Curnow with a four year contract and has won 2 of the last 3 Coleman Medals, our marquee player all over the membership packs, kids merch and pretty much every Carlton supporter under 12s favourite player?)

There is a vast gulf between the steely determined mongrels of a Joel Selwood or Luke Hodge, and the frustrated arseh*le who berates his team mates when things are tough and gets into punch-ons, like May.And whenever we talk about bringing in someone like that the "no d*ckheads policy" brigade come out.
We've been a nice team for 20 yrs, where's that got us? Look at every grand final team, several pricks in all of them. The very best have a bunch of them.
I'm a bit sick of the nice guys only approach tbh, we need to grow up a bit and realise managing jerks is something all the best clubs do.
