I love Connor as an interceptor but hes still very vulnerable on the last line in A GF. You want blicavs or sdk covering the defensive goalsquare deep as much as you can.

Looked like one of the cleanest out there when it got wet. Apart from that howler turnover he was excellent.

Still only 62 % tog (needs to be sub in GF if think not sure if he can play the full game) but he was super clean and a good player.

I know, right? Kudos to Hawthorn - the ground was set up in a way we didn't expect. They tried to turn our desire to create a loose man into something that they wanted. And then they tried the St Kilda style kick-mark approach to get around it.

So I think we had a whole period there of players in positions and seeing the ground in ways they weren't used to.

We then pulled the brilliant tactical move of injuring two key defenders for a little bit of time.

Tommy going off in a way was a bit like Pods going off in the '11 GF ... we restructured in a way which helped win the game.

I like how Hawk fans are "coping" by saying this year was "too soon" and next year's the year. It is like they have it scheduled.

The other 17 teams have agency and will have something to say about it. They slog all year and spend millions of dollars to give the Hawks an armchair ride in 2026 because "it is their year"?
