I just had a look at that section via the link below.

I would much prefer to be at one of the goal ends than elsewhere sitting that far back
But totally agree it is a fair way from the boundary, and the slope is just gradual enough to get by.
Unless a basketballer sits in front of you.
Enjoy the game and let's hope the Lions can come away with a win.

Maybe you have already checked this site out. If not give it a go.

Open the link below.
At the top, to the left of Section Map is "enter section number" Enter 33, a pop down menu appears, select HH that's as far back as they have
That gives you a virtual map. Just move it around to see whatever angle you want
From ceiling to floor. right, left etc.

Another way to find seating
You can also just move your cursor anywhere on the map and section number with information appear just click on.
A smaller image version appears. Then click "expand view" bottom right of image.
Then at top left click "row" a drop-down menu appears. Select the closest row letter to yours.

Yes it's a very handy site to get an idea of where you're at.

Are you referring to MCC/AFL members, or other organisations? MCC you certainly can’t sell your seat (or not within the rules, and not without risking losing your membership). If you get a reserved seat in the ballot you either have to scan into the ground on the day, or return the seat in advance. If you get busted lending your membership you run the risk of losing it (though admittedly I’ve never bern closely checked on entry).

Yeah right, that's really interesting. At the captains run last year, some friends of ours were talking to an older guy just inside the stadium and after some time he says "oh I'm an AFL member but we rarely go the GF because essentially it's too much hassle." The ensuing conversation went on for a bit and he ultimately says make me an offer for his and another members tickets to them and you can have our spots.

Now I know that could have been anyone pretending to be anyone but the conversation went on long enough (essentially during the whole run) and he apparently seemed to know the ins and outs of the place so it seemed pretty legit.

Also know of another couple of AFL members in Brissy that didn't go and on sold their spots to supporters last year. To be clear I don't know these people from Adam and it was a social function where we were at and he basically told the story and said "we did alright out of them".

Both things seemed perfectly legit at the time, I didn't realise it was a no no. I just thought it was rude.

It's also not allowed to transfer/sell AFL membership seats, but anecdotally it's clearly done (my friend was offered 4 AFL membership seats for last week's prelim). The membership can also be downgraded or cancelled if caught because it's against T&C's... I guess it depends on the risk profile of the member and the value they place on their membership. I suspect AFL and MCC are happy to turn a blind eye to it, as long at they get the stand filled they don't get criticism.
MCC announced a crackdown on sharing memberships recently because it really makes members who follow the rules unhappy.
On the MCC side I've never been ID checked - but I also don't lend my MCC card to anyone.

I totally agree that for the GF (and other big games) - if there are reserved seats that aren't taken up or returned by members by a few days out, then these should be made available to completing club members or the general public.

Just found out there is no afterparty, which is a bit disappointing. Not sure why but I do hope we aren't becoming a bit elitist.

Apparently if we win there will be a public event after the game in the Yarra Park in the AFL Festival of Footy precinct. However I suspect if we lose Geelong will hold there's there instead. No idea if the boys and the cup will make a showing but you would hope so.
I believe the idea is that it was the after parties that were elitist and this way lots more people will be able to attend and celebrate together. My understanding is that the team would attend if we won. Don’t know if it will still be on if we lose?

I didn't go to any after-party, but never liked the idea. It seems like another fund-raising event where players need to continue to be "on" for the public willing to buy a ticket. Worse still if we lose...
Having a free public event may not be as close up as some would like, but it allows many people to attend, and then when done the boys can go share it with friends, family and club people in some sort of privacy.

Yeah I definitely see both those sides.

You could easily say that the afterparty was both elitist and a fund raiser because I think both are true to a large degree. But I also saw it little differently to any other paid function the club holds which allows (very limited) access to (some) players.

For me living so far away from Brisbane, and having already paid dearly to make the trip to Melbourne, the added expense of the after party was something I convinced myself was worth it because it may never happen again. And I would say the losing one in '23 was actually far better than the winning one in '24 weirdly. I also consider myself incredibly lucky to have been able to attend, even if we were fish out of water.

But I also agree 100% that it will be great to see far more people able to celebrate the cup after the game if the boys show up with it at Yarra Park. Getting a bit closer than upper level 4 and seeing the boys a bit more relaxed will be worth the wait. I did get the feeling it was only going to happen with a win but.

Then you can see them even more relaxed at Brunswick St the next day :)

Hi all. I still have 1 x before the bounce package available if anyone is interested. It includes function at Melbourne park 9.30am-1pm, then level 2 seat prime position section N56 Olympic stand for the game. Cost price is $3695. Will sell for less, make me an offer.

Trying to sell a ticket I received via an AFL Event Office package mid year at retail price. Unfortunately not cheap ($2,045, which is less the Prelim Ticket - will provide receipts/invoice for proof). Appreciate you may be able to get a ticket for less, so if you can, go for it. Level 4, Row O. PM for details and I’ll email all the things.

Last year Mrs DP and i got gastro from the grand kids on the day you had to register. Too crook and when the vomiting finally stopped we slept into the afternoon. Missed out on the tickets but got two standing room tickets exactly on the wing which was good viewing, much better then level four behind the goals where our P2tickets are this year.
P1 SM52 Row V this year for Mrs DP and I.
We always ask, at the start of the season, for our season membership to have access to Grand Final tickets

M1 near the front for me. Much prefer a bit of height for a more tactical view, but just thrilled to not be under the overhang again like last year!

Anyone familiar with the grand final parade, best way to do it?

Main things for me - i am driving from the airport and wondering where to park

and any advice on best place to go with young kids

Don’t bother. $400 tickets that he’s trying to get $1000 for. Already have multiple people warning against him on the Geelong board too.
Thanks. Discovered that straight away though.
At least he was upfront about it.

Still, supply and demand; it's worth what someone is willing to pay ... 🙄

Reminder to anyone offering Lions supporters tickets, or Lions supporters onselling theirs

The AFL Grand Final is a protected event under legislation
and tickets are only permitted to be advertised/sold at no more than 10% of their face value.

Please use the report function for any users engaging in scalping activities, thanks.

Any events worth attending this week in Melbourne?

E.g live shows
Google is your friend. Search for Grand Final eve events (assuming you’re looking for football related).
I had a pretty good look last night because someone asked the same question - nothing directly Brisbane related. Plenty of clubs, booze cruises, etc. or big $ grand-final breakfast type events. Nothing that interests me.
Anything that is good value is probably sold out.

Has anyone got their tickets
Just making sure , I think its tomorrow right.
Edit: Had my mobile data off the app.
Ok now I can get in the app and there they are.
Bloody Technology.
All good. Phew.

I can be your tour guide........all I ask for payment is 1 GF ticket lol.

I am actively searching for 2 tickets (yes, join the club?)
I'm registered as an auto purchase with Tixel so pre approved - link here https://tixel.com/u/adriennel13 - ready for if anyone changes their mind, or falls ill, whatever the reason. Protections are in place for both parties if you're worried about banking details (rightly).

Happy with 1x Adult and 1x Youth (if that's a thing) or 2x Adult. Standing or seated. Don't mind. Thanks for considering.
