2025 List Management Discussion - Part 4

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.

Free Agency Period: Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th
AFL Draft: Wednesday, November 19th - Thursday, November 20th

Ryan King Owens Higgins

is really going to stretch opposition clubs. vitally important now that king gets fit. he has great synergy with Owens but i think adding Ryan into that mix makes it alot more potent. with Higgins already out performing most fwds having established himself as the comps premier small IMO.

field passing excellent. set shot has been a bit iffy back to his subi days. but has got better over time.

someone like ross would be excellent for him more so than simpson IMO

I don't think the club has put out any information about our spending?

Its all media speculation from manager tidbits that the chooks are fed. Its why the figures are inflated so much, its designed to put pressure back onto the clubs to pony up more money.

Its also why whenever they talk about specific contract details its completely out of their ass as all those contracts are private and unless a player willingly discloses something from it the other parties will be bound by privacy legalities.

Caro Wilson reported that we only spent 83% of the slary CAP in 2025 hence bonuses to wilke, Marshall and Sinclair. And pay other players contracts forward.

Also paid for Billings and crouch salaries in 2025.

It was also reported that Basset stated that TDK was only being paid 1.65m a season. On the average.

There is nothing to move on from, its not 1990... and yes he very much deserves the Captaincy and should have been annoited this year.

Would you have the same view point if there was another viable candidate? Just asking a question

One is in the middle of a contract they already agreed to. The other didn't have a contract, and clearly wanted to stay. Can't be compared at all

This whole debate about the captaincy is really a moot point.
Wilkie will be captain. And Windy will be put into the leadership group as a very likely successor in around 3 years or so.
Steele will hopefully stay. He won’t be the first player to continue at a club no longer being the captain.

My two cents anyway.

It just shows how little credibility everyone gives the original source of the 'news'.
To think that we would leak to him is a joke. The club has been an impenetrable bubble for months. We're not about to gob off when it's completely up to Flanders to make up his own mind, and to announce his decision himself.

Gee, if we can slide 7 back a few spots in the Flanders Marshall stuff. There is some nice talent looking at being on the board
