2025 List Management Discussion - Part 4

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Thanks to Lore once again for this incredibly useful spreadsheet.

2025 KEY DATES
Free Agency Period:
Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th
AFL Draft: Wednesday, November 19th - Thursday, November 20th

Can't remember where I heard it, but I've been reliably informed that the Bulldogs are not a serious football club.....
To stick with today’s theme, I hate them and judging from their board this has caught on and is burning them.

I was posting with my grandson on my lap, the old one finger typing on my iPad. I must have mistakenly replied to a post from the Wilkie thread that someone else had put up.

I was whisked away from this thread totally oblivious and gave it to a few bulldogs posters who I thought were taking liberties on our thread and got a week off from some guy with no sense of humour.

If it annoys the bulldogs I’m happy to run with it.

I was watching Rick Stein’s secret France, as I read your post a picture of massive purple aubergine’s in a market popped up on the screen.

You guys need to get out in the sun more, there is nothing sensual about football. It’s blokes with heads like robbers dogs belting each other silly.

God weather hits 25 and we feel sorry for essendon and have sensual off seasons. One more and I’m calling Pete Hegseth, get back to core values I say.

Boy oh boy ,

I didn't mind them prior to 2016, but once they won the flag they turned into that bogan neighbour that wins Powerball and then thinks they're above their neighbours. Their presidents comments about us during the 2020 season will stick with me for life.

I will only ever advocate for the destruction of one club - and that's the scum.

It's just too bad that they're associated with the best animal of all time - the dog.

How do you think we're going to go next year injecting all these new faces into our best 22? I can't help but feel like it might take one more season for the club to really hit the next level.

I don't mind, considering that I can see what the club is doing and this is clearly the best moves we've made for a long time. I don't care what the media says, but if we don't make finals next year the pressure is going to be on.

Is it possible we miss finals just because we lack a little bit of team cohesion?
I agree jwikked and I’ve posted similar cautious thoughts myself.
The gameplan needs to be extremely basic with so many new faces, I expect to see a lot of inside 50 bombs and hoping our smalls can crumb.

Be interesting in any event.

Any chance we can re-sign the President?

Also the CEO Carl Delina. he has also been very good for the club. we now have very good sponsorship, stable board, overseas sponsorship in Fiji. (who would have ever thought of that)

Oh it is driving them insane

They were always shockers we had some great brawls with them at moorabbin even the trainers were punching on.

Had a great day tormenting the crowd at Whitten oval when plugger bashed a very stupid Rick Kennedy.

Don’t feel sorry for them, don’t have second teams, there’s us and the rest, I can respect them and like individual players but like other teams, nah.

I don't think it will be an issue.

A while back Essington spent an entire preseason injecting and they came flying out of the blocks.......

That’s what Geelong are preparing for in Marshall. Ro does love to slap-it-on-da-boot in a ruck contest and bomb the ball forward like a blind man’s mortar shot . I suppose it is better than the other guy getting it straight from reset though. All relative.

If we had a bunch of gun forwards reading the drop of the ball his dump kicking never would have been an issue.

Great points. I guess we'll never know what was in the works before he actually showed up, but things seem to have changed dramatically since he did. His efforts at North Melbourne were huge. It's pretty obvious he's a top tier operator.

I only started seriously hating them when Bevo took over and coached them to play for free kicks as well as throwing the ball.

It worked though as the umpires carried them to a flag in 2016 and Dogs supporters still get super salty when you point it out.

I'm at the AFLW game in Marrickville. Bumped into Jesse Hogan--good bloke. I asked that he take it easy on us next year and he laughed in a humble way and said, "i think you guys are going to be pretty good!"

and the saints won.

Yep , says more about our forwards than it does Roma , they should have been more aware knowing he did that , but no I'm just going to be half asleep

Admit it , you put a handcuff on him so he couldn't escape

Yeah, I'm a bit too young for it, but my mum absolutely ****ing hates them and we've been in the west our whole lives. I kinda thought there was some small club camaraderie while we still had the jump on them in the late 2000's, so didn't really mind them winning a flag.

Mum immediately recounts dogs fans spitting on her at Moorabbin and says she'll laugh when their club folds.

But also my mum likes Geelong as a "second" team so she's a bit cooked
