This thread is becoming increasingly popular, and to keep some sort of order, we will have some….

Rules of engagement:

1. Bring valid news or links to Twitter posts from notable sources. Don’t post screenshots or “some bloke just said on SEN” or what some “trade whisperer” has posted on a Facebook page.

2. Ignore what other team boards are putting up as trade offers. Don’t quote or bring them here either.

3. Don’t post “buckle up” for the lols.

4. If you can’t say anything nice about Worpel or CJ, don’t say anything at all. The continued slaps and backhanders are just going to be deleted.

I mentioned earlier in the thread that Merrett could be bringing a player from Essendon across with him… that’s how I interpreted my mail. Turns out it was Gia… didn’t realise he was alluding to coaching team.
It would be entertaining to get a project like Tsatas and turn him into a player just to mess with Essendon

Being a destination doesn’t mean every player wants to come to your club.

Is an opposition captain not enough for you to meet this definition? Unless, I am missing something.
100% there are some miserable people getting around

Nick Daicos will be Tassies premier signing. You heard it here first.

It will also be the biggest first year front loaded contract in history.
Interesting. Daicos senior met with Chris Scott today…

It's been a seriously impressive off-season for St Kilda.

People can fling shit at them for offering monster contracts, but the reality of their situation, as a less attractive club, means they sometimes have to put the cart before the horse to create enough momentum to achieve success.

100%

Like people can scoff at them throwing overs in terms of salary cap, but they're a small market team and having a proper crack at it. Very much how Sammy saw our list, knew there were some good senior heads to use like Sic & went hard at available targets.

Saints know they have that two-year window to show Nasiah they will be in finals, and they aren't going to die wondering. I expect they will be very inconsistent for at least the first few months, as they're basically integrating in a handful of players and there are question marks regarding all their lines.

But if they make finals next year, it's a massive win for them and may help them tie NWM down for longer. The worst case scenario is if they fall into the same issue they did previously, and become perennial 9th to 12th teams. But I feel their youth is a bit better than when they last rebuilt their list.

Tauru will be a star - gutted we couldn't somehow swipe him, being a Hawks fan growing up.

Clubs need to be given the freedom of trading out a player to the best offer with 1 year to run prior to becoming a free agent.
1. If a player opts to change clubs while still in contract they should receive a 5 week suspension for every year of the contract they break. ie..if we got Merrett he wouldn't be able to play until round 11. So we can still get a contracted player but it's not the same as an uncontracted player.

2. If a club opts to end a player contract early they should have to keep the contract on their books as part of the salary cap for the duration of the contract. So yes they can shirk their commitment to the player but they have to stick to the dollar commitment they made when they signed the contract.

This is my solution and it would work perfectly.

Music Video Wtf GIF

Put it this way - it incentivises a player to stick out the contract they agreed to rather than being able to end it without any personal impact at all. That's the problem that the comp will be trying to solve after this trade period if Merrett, Curnow etc move clubs

No one is really out of contract that isn’t already moving. We could have a crack at O’Driscoll or Chapman, who had indifferent years, but I doubt it.

They currently hold Pick 43 which is thereabouts.
Everytime I hear the name O'Driscoll I immediately think of Red Dead Redemption 2.
