2025 List Management Discussion - Part 4

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

2025 KEY DATES
Free Agency Period: Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th
Trade Period: Monday, October 6th - Wednesday, October 15th
AFL Draft: Wednesday, November 19th - Thursday, November 20th

I reckon we might be doing another trade with Gold Coast and overpaying for Flanders will be factored in to that.

SDK comes in releasing Hammer, Doogs, Tauru as possible forward options to cover the loss of Marshall.
Jsos, SDK, Hastie
Wilkie, Aleer, Sincs
Stocker/LOC/Clark

Maybe Doogs gets traded in this event and it's hard to see Tauru not in there. Plenty of options at least.

I'm not a fan of moving Tauru forward. Looks like a future elite defender to me. Amazing ability to get a spoil in from any position and only seems to be scratching the surface of how good of an intercept mark he's going to be.

SDK has to be on the table if Cats are serious about Marshall + Curnow.

We take SDK, release Tauru or Hammer to the forwards.
Carlton get 2x 1st for Curnow.

The only way we get SDK for Marshall is to throw in something that Carlton may value, e.g. Caminiti.

I'm not trying to be rude but you probably aren't the best judge of talent either so find your dismissal of Armoooo's opinion amusing.

Armoooo's opinion is in line with much more reputable thinkers than yourself, chief.

Adam Kingsley chose to select Aleer for every game in GWS' race for finals - except Round 20 where he was rested and then brought straight back in.

And also the recruiting team at the Saints clearly rate Aleer as an addition to the list - SOS, Gubby and Ross.

Fair enough to have a different opinion but your outright dismissal is actually comical.

As for what I think about Aleer...he has some elite athletic and physical traits. Has only played 25 games of AFL football. For what we are getting him for....a likely F3 and a modest salary - there is plenty to work with.

The Saints clearly see Aleer as a versatile defender who can play both tall and small. He definitely has a fair bit of work to go in terms of being an elite defender but he is only a baby in terms of experience.

You know it's actually possible to disagree with someone without being a condescending jerk about it.

Give it a whirl mate.

I see him as our 2nd ruck option.Adam Goodes started in the ruck ,play him on ball hit a few bodies and grow in confidence .

Why would we be trading out 2 contracted players in the deal? Geelong genuinely have few players worth that equivalent value and none they want to give up.
