• Brandon Starcevich arrives at West Coast in a three team deal
• Tylar Young (Richmond) arrived at West Coast in exchange for Pick 38.
• Deven Robertson (Brisbane) has agreed to join West Coast and will be signed on to the rookie list after being delisted by Brisbane

Out:

• Oscar Allen joins Brisbane as a FA - West Coast receive Pick 2 as compensation
• Liam Ryan and a 2027 R3 pick has been traded to St Kilda for a 2026 R2 pick
• Campbell Chesser has been traded to Carlton for Pick 41
• Jayden Hunt announces retirement
• Jack Petruccelle, Callum Jamieson and Loch Rawlinson not offered new contracts
• Coen Livingstone joins the list of players not offered a new contract

Got a feeling the concussion thing is being overblown on here. Now I know our club has made mistakes in the past but surely the Starcevich contract will have triggers that protect us?
Lets face it, almost every player in the league now is just one hit away from being medically retired, doesn't even have to be that big a hit anymore.

There’s no triggers in that trade to protect us.

How’s it a good deal? We now don’t have the points to move up the order, we just gave 16,22 and 23 away for a bloke who’ll be medically retired if he gets concussed again and for pick 12.

Trying to see the light here but I can’t, the deal in itself isn’t horrific but factoring in we now can’t trade up is what makes it horrible to me.

don't need to trade up now trade pick 1 to Essendon for 5,6 go into draft with 2,5,6,12

22 for Starcevich
16 and 23 for 12, 33, 52

Oh but the points for the trade up? Borderline identical to our previous hand.

After Allen compo we had 17+24+38 = 1777 points
Current hand of 13+34+38=1717 points.

It’s a good deal, Allen compo is on the way, bank it and move on. Well done Clarke and co.

I think he's a good get in isolation but I can't see how anyone can make the argument that we're downplaying his concussion issues given how much footy he's missed

We do but you'd imagine either that or 33 (34) is going to be used for Young.

I guess it will turn out to be Chesser for Young ultimately.

It's okay mate, if he gets a head-knock in 4 years time and has to retire you can return here all guns blazing saying you told us so. It's been discussed ad nauseum, just wait for it to happen.

And you can pretend it was totally unforeseeable and that you weren't wrong in pretending the issue wasn't real when we traded for him. Which i know you will.

And it won't take 4 years for him to get a head knock. That soft head contact that took him out of the GF would happen to most players a couple of times a year, but it is not enough to concuss players who don't already have extensive bruising of their brain tissue. We will find out well before 4 years just how big the problem is.

1564 will still be better than anyone else offers and fallback position is we now have 12 instead of 16
