Not too concerned about David Swallow, seems articles are linking him to WCE. Not sure on the base, but I don't think theres been a rumor that if he does come out of retirement that it will be with us.

2024
Didn't have a high pick because they traded it for Liam Baker and ****ing Matt Owies. With the pick they got back they took Bo Allan

2023
#1 Reid

2022
Traded #2 for #8 & #12
#8 Ginbey
#12 Elijah Hewett

2021
Traded the #12 pick mid draft for #14 and took Campbell Chesser

2020
Didn't pick until #52 because they traded #18 as part of the Tim Kelly deal

2019
Didn't pick until #54 because they traded every pick they had for Kelly

2018
Won the flag

Twomey's tweet is horseshit. It's a good deal in isolation but it papers over them winning a flag five years ago, and also the terrible Kelly deal being the reason they didn't have many picks subsequently, and doesn't take into account Chesser failing, them bailing out of Jagga Smith to take Ginbey and Hewett (decent players).

The AFL has essentially gifted them Starcevich, and herbs and spices gets them #2 for Allen, who's crocked.
Insane that Twomey seems to imply that it is only fair that WC 'finally' have a good draft hand! They haven't had regular top picks because it wasn't that long ago they won a GF and even more recently playing in finals (plus trading multiple first rounders for Kelly)

Giving them a free pick that basically delivers them Starcevich while artificially protecting their pick 2 FA compo, is a hell of an assistance package.

Interesting that their assistance perfectly aligns with what they needed to bend the rules just right, yet when the AFL could have done something similar for us, by allowing us NGA access to Sanders, they refused, even though the rules were changed again a couple of years later (just in time for * to get their man). But they were happy to bend the rules even further for GC a couple of years previously, giving them academy access to Darwin AND allowing them to prelist players before the draft.

Trembath plays 3 good games in dead rubber games and suddenly all our KPF issues are solved? Right...
Can only compete against what's in front of him. 3 on debut playing 1 on 1 against Sam Taylor (and follow up) says there is plenty to like. AND, to be fair, it seems GWS did their homework and showed some respect sending Taylor to him. Who would have expected them to send their best defender to a 19yo kid on debut?

West Coast, Essendon and North are only 3 teams in my opinion that at this point could trade up using 2nd round capital (maybe Melbourne after Petracca/McVee/Oliver trades). Now West Coast has already gone and traded their second round capital out. I think if we were to trade up it would be with Carlton who are expecting a Dean bid. The ? Is who would it be worth trading up for and what do we give up. Again this is all just my opinion.
Thanks.

He's posted about 45 versions so no idea which one i saw now.
I think yesterday's post when all the numbers we're laid bare didn't look great for Freo. However Cal is doing the Lord's* work and is simplifying it so looks great for everyone and the AFL can't be seen to favouring the Lions and Eagles.
