India batting first.
Anderson Phillip back in, Tevin Imlach back in for King. Can’t say that’s a bad thing. Imlach has at least shown he can reach three figures - 3 centuries and an 80 in his 5 domestic games this season and hit a good half century against South Africa A during the series against them a few months ago.
Could this be the worst West Indies XI of our time?

Omar Phillips
Dale Richards
Ryan Austin
Travis Dowlin
Floyd Reifer
David Bernard
Chadwick Walton
Darren Sammy
Nikita Miller
Kemar Roach
Tino Best

That’s pretty rank if you exclude Roach

Most of those names I don't even recognise so they can't have been that good but Floyd Reifer is one of the all time great names.

Travis Dowlin’s biggest claim to fame was having the best seat in the house while the Universe Boss laid waste to the Aussies at the WACA and near decapitated Mark Taylor off Nathan Hauritz up in the commentary box.

Tino Best had a few of them: being talked out by Andrew Flintoff, almost becoming the worst batsman in history to score a test century, bedding over 40 women on a tour of Australia and somewhere approaching 700 overall - significantly more wickets than he ever took - and bowling furiously fast for little discernible reward.

Are we buying that both josephs were hurt so couldn't play these tests or are WI saving what talent they have

I'll assume the Windies Cricket board did a fine job sweeping all that Shamar.... unpleasantness under the proverbial rug then?

Good point actually, WI is a great place but where Shamar is for it's againt the law to be gay so i'd hate to think about human rights for a case like this in which he already paid one cousin off.

it's a really bad look for cricket and more important human rights

What did they have to do? Sammy himself issued a statement about it but the Guyana police haven’t released anything further. What are they going to do, make a statement about a case that’s not even been made yet

I guess I'm used to Australian sporting boards that are generally judge, jury and executioner.

He’s literally been named in the squad to follow against Bangladesh for a white ball series. Does anyone even bother to NOT chuck on the conspiracy hat anymore ffs

If anything that fuels the conspiracy they are picking and choosing which games he plays in? shall see

Being ready to bowl a maximum of 10 overs in a game that starts and finishes on October 18 is different to being ready to bowl an unknown amount of overs in a game that is scheduled to go for five days starting on October 2.
