2025 Draft Order

Current Draft Picks:
Round 1: 1, 2, 13
Round 2: 34, 41
Round 3: 53, 58 (These picks are in excess of available list spots so will be forfeited if we don’t consolidate our 2025 picks up the order or trade some for future picks)

List Spots Available (39 of 48):
• Main list (33 of 38) - 5* (in: Starcevich, Young out: Allen, Ryan, Chesser, Hunt, Petruccelle, Jamieson)
• Cat A rookie list (5 of 8) - 3* (in: Robertson (pending), out: Rawlinson)
• Cat B rookie list (1 of 2) - 2 (out: Livingstone)

* Based on Dewar being upgraded after the maximum 3 years on the rookie list. Hutchinson may also have been upgraded but this isn’t confirmed - if it is we will have 4 main and 4 rookie list spots open

* Matthew Clarke has stated we have 5 main list spots

Matt Clarke wraps up the trade period - 6PR

If there’s any evidence needed that the trade period is too long, you’ve got campaigners spending their Sunday morning arguing that we need to get James Rowbottom to the club.

Go outside, mow the lawn, do literally anything else, surely. James Rowbottom. **** me. James Rowbottom.
Yeah who needs tackling or defensive pressure in the midfield

Keep sitting on that chair 🙂

You know a troll has nothing when they start getting personal.

Because Pick 13 is crap in this draft... why do you think we are all so desperate to move up the order for ? Im pretty sure Matt Rosa has figured it out too guys

It’s not crap, it’s going to get a very good player. Obviously the talent is better at the pointy end but we are also trying to move up because we have limited list spots.

Rosa have said he wants to move up to 1 or 2, the cost of that will be that another pick needs to move down.

He said Pick 1, never mentioned pick 2.

Pick 1 for Pick 5 and 6 is another discussion to be had

He said move up the order discussing with Richmond and us. If he’s prepared to trade for 1,3 and 4 he’s very clearly prepared to trade for 2.

Twomey has also reported that.

If everyone universally agrees we should get rid of something, its probably because its seen as a overvalued asset.... and when everyone sees it, so does your potential buyer.
Right so that's why using pick 13 for Rowbottom that Sydney have told to explore his options is good use of draft capital is it?

In the scenario that we did swap 2 and 13 with Essendon for 5 and 6, I'd like to see the below:

1) Duursma (WCE)
2) Uwland (GCS)
3) CDT (ESS)
4) Patterson (GCS)
5) Annable (BRIS)
6) Robey (RICH)
7) Taylor (RICH)
8) Sharp (WCE)
9) Cumming/Schubert (WCE)

I would prefer we go with Cumming at 9 and look to 2026 for KPP prospects

Its better then taking pick 13 for sure. Harley Reid needs midfield protection today not in 3 years time
Sorry overpaying for a player that is a second string midfielder isn't good business. If we could get him for a second rounder then I could agree with you.

There will be some good player's, KP available at thirteen if we don't upgrade.

I'm reading Essendon's intention for trading for Richmond's picks as being to set themselves up for a push for pick 1.

Going into 2026 with the same starting midfield isnt good business either.... especially when the defensive pressure is our core weakness, and that is Rowbottoms key strength

If the deals are

Pick 1 for pick 5 and 6 or Pick 2 and 13 for 5 and 6.... im just trading pick 1 myself.

Add Banfield and NGA. That's a perfect draft

If we could land Fred or Curtin at 34. That would put the cherry on the cake

I’d be very surprised if they are happy to get taken to the cleaners twice in a two step approach to 1. They’ll lose all their other decent picks if they try and do that. It’s more whether we’re prepared to trade it or not.

Stand firm on 1 and a junk pick for 5,6. Tell them 2,13 for 5,6,21 and see how desperate they are for CDT but TBH I’d settle for 2,13 for 5,6.

"Nah mate, I'll take 1 or 3 but I've no interest in 2." 😂

Bid Annable pick 1. Brisbane did us no favours in that trade with their posturing for Starcevich.

I struggle to see a scenario where we trade pick 1 tbh. I think Duursma is locked and loaded at WCE.
At this point, I don't think we trade it either. But Essendon aren't sitting on their hands either.

Duursma is comfortably the best in the draft. Take him then consider splitting 2.

Can't mow the lawn if your arms are ripped off.
