Earlier on in the piece McGregor was the first to say he wanted out of the footy club, Hudson then wanted the same thing. then it was thought they would both be traded as a pair to the dogs but now that Meesen has buggered off to Victoria the only talk now is about Huddo and Meesen being off loaded so does this mean that it's all behind the scenes now or have the crows struck up a deal?

Apparently no one has shown any interest in Kenny... I think John Reid commented on it a couple of days ago.

If I were a betting man I'd put my money on Kenny staying. But that's what I said about Meesen.

That's why I don't gamble.:D

Does anyone else think he could be used in a deal to get didak. we offer our 1st pick and keeny for him and if they don't like it throw in a 3rd round pick. then we get the man we desperatly need and they get some expereince to there defence where kenny is best

Cough up McGregor, your first pick which is what?, pick 12 and maybe a 3rd rounder for didak?? You are dreaming. I dare say Dids is off the table but if the crows were to get him I would suggest some more akin to youre first pick, McGregor and van Berlo or a ruckman. I know this is an outlandish request but thats what the pies will ask for as you dont have low enough picks for us to give the eagles for Judd. :thumbsd:

There is no way we would pay that besides some of ya players will need to be moved on to make room under the salary cap.

I wouldn't show any interest (to the Crows) for McGregor either. Why place your cards on the table this far out ...... better of talking to the crows with a day or so to go in trade week and squeeze something out of them on the cheap.

I would.

Pick 10 - Yeah would like to keep it but hey, too bad.
McGregor - Well, he was out of favour for a lot of 2007 anyway.
A ruckman - Take Meesen, he wants out of the Crows so may aswell send him somewhere we can get a good return.

The draft is hit and miss, quality players aren't.

Ken Mcgregor

sorry to intrude onto the crows forum.

But is this guy definetly leaving your club i would love him at the dees?

i need some info

thanks

Hudson, McGregor, Pick 10 for Didak and throw in your second rounder (Pick 31 I think).

Done.

I would need to change my avatar though... :o

Re: Ken Mcgregor

I'm sure he will be better having a pre-season under his belt, considering it was interrupted this year, as well has atleast half the season for Kenny.

I honestly think some people have been a little harsh with their comments about his performances this year considering that.

Adelaide shouldn't trade pick 10 unless its upgrading it, and with whatever pick it is 10 or earlier should draft a South Aussie kid.

Or atleast should try to, I'm sick of this 1st rounder victorian dud shit.

Apart from Brad Ebert (who should be gone before Pick 10) there are no South Australian's in the same ball park as Pick 10.

Do not be disappointed on draft day if our first pick is not a South Aussie. Unless it's Ebert I would be mortified if we took a SA kid.

As I have already said, Kenny's not going anywhere just yet. He may have said he wants out, but we are not going to just give him away. Come next season with a bit more bulk Kenny will be the jewel in NCs revamped forward line, playing as a stay at home FF or FP.

Don't rate Levi Greenwood?

Kenny may not have a choice if no one is interested in him. I for one would not mind seeing him stay, but something has to change for next year with Kenny, I'm not sure if bulking up is the answer.

I think the last thing Kenny needs is to bulk down. If anything, maybe losing a kg or 2 would be helpful. He is slow as it is, if he bulked up he would be next to useless for us.

Losing a couple of kgs might improve his pace slightly which would be geat for Kenny.

I'd be happy with kenny gaining a couple of kg's if he also gain a bit of mongrel and become a bit of an enforcer in the forward line ala Fraser Gherig, however this is unlikely to happen and the extra kgs are only going to reduce his mobility, which is one part of his game that is being questioned, so lightening up may be the key.

Its a tough one with Kenny, unfortunately I dont see him playing much more of a role than just a fringe KPP brought in if one of the other goes down.

100 m sprinters are big
long distance runners are small

Increased leg muscle strength/bulk will increase his power and explosive pace.

Increased upper body strength will improve his ability to hold off the opposition.

Working to his strengths will improve his confidence. The rest will follow.

unfortunately modern day forwards need endurance almost on par with the midfielders, hence why athletes with long distance endurance are preferred in the afl.

The ability to hold out opponents is more centered through your core not your upper body. Someone with a lower centre of gravity often has a better advantage than a taller player. See Modra for example. He was not the strongest bloke in the club but was almost impossible to move him off his line due to his core stability strength and knowledge of how to use it (the most important bit).

Kenny is a long distance athlete, always has been, always will be. You can increase someones speed to a certain extent but mostly it is genetics that is more important (fast twitch fibres) in determining if someone will be a world class sprinter.
