DR: Would you go to North if they rang?

Sam Frost: " Definitely ,they're an up and coming list, I probably could fill in a bit of a gap there and fit into their back line, I know several people in the football department, I'd enjoy it at North"

Blokes can just have bad luck with timing. If Frost had become available when we were looking for ready to go KPDs after McKay went to *, he'd have been a walk up start with us

Genuinely not sure what Coops has done deserve a spot over Payne or Phillips.
North Melbourne’s head of football talent Brady Rawlings said Harvey’s late-season form was a clear indication of his potential.

“Cooper showed glimpses of what he’s capable of in the second half of this season,” Rawlings said.

“He was given his opportunity in the senior side late in the year and responded well, proving he has good goal sense and the versatility to play in multiple positions.

“We’re looking forward to watching him build on that momentum and grow into a consistent player.”

Just another opportunity for Russell to have a sly dig.

Dawson, Comben and Pink start Round 1.

Logue and Corr can play at VFL level

So, 2 draft picks + Coop + DFA it should be. I think a trade back into R1 might well be on the cards hunting a tall. The other pick might be the best HB or Wing/Mid we can find when pick 46 becomes nearer 36.

Just my reading of the list structure, but I'd say Banch took Payne's spot (not Harvey), in the same way Trembath took Maley's.

It's tough, Payne's a goer and every club needs grunt, but there's only so many spots
Agree. Tough or not Banch came in in all honesty was a bit of a ball magnet (to his detriment when his team mates decided to plonk it on his head and let 6f5 opponents collect him. He showed a natural ability to work up the ground and get to where he needed to. Far from a finished product obviously but showed in his first couple of games that he "gets" where to go and when to do it.

Would be cheap, rookie, and a back up in case one of our backline players who often get injured is out...

This time next year is going to be very fascinating. A lot of players out of contract have very big years and on the chopping block, far more than this year. Also maybe be able to open up a lot of capital.

Goater, George, CCJ, RHJ, Scott, JK, Trembath, Banch, Harvey, Archer and Stevens all at risk if underperforming seasons. Corr likely future endeavoured

LMAC and Parks likely get another year with that first group being so big. Probably have Pink in this spot aswell

Wardlaw, Hardeman, Duursma,Dawson, Powell and Urqhatt will be our priorities in that order probably

Duursma we will want resign regardless of year but a lot of rumours

Thats a darn lot of players to churn and with our underwhelming hit rate on recruits iam afraid there will be a lot of spud for spud scenarios

Now that we basically know what our list will look like for 2026, here is my first crack at our starting 23 and emergencies.

C: Stephens Powell FOS
HF: Duursma Trembath Zurhaar
