I have not liked Farrow much, in 1 game Metro kicked 10 points and he had 16 touches at half time, 10 from kickins, his kicking isnt as good as people have claimed, looks like more a maybe pick up than first rounder i wonder which nuffie got the media stuck on him?, Ludowyke has issues kicking at goal which has turned me off him so 2 players i wouldn't draft imo.
Yeah, have seen a bit of Farrow and totally agree. He gets a lot of easy kicks and his kicks are very chippy and not overly penetrating.

I'm pretty sold on Lindsay and would be disappointed if we overlook him, especially for an interstate prospect. Farrow looks okay but WA is not as high a standard recently.

Greeves I think is a high risk high reward type pick. I could totally see him in an AFL environment get lose the puppy fat gain the fitness and explosiveness and be a gun. He has many top level traits. Think Petracca who took a while to build a midfield tank and was a bit pudgy early, or stringer too who remained that way. Another good comparison is Mundy.

But I also fear he could be a complete bust that just never has the speed and awareness. Remember he didn't take part in testing at draft combine, sometimes players score low here and tumble down the order a bit.

I would say our club would be in a very good position to know about his work ethic and character is like. And also know how far off he is in speed and others, as in juniors he's a beast and bullies opponents, when he pushes forward NO 17 year old mid can stop him. But that's not the case in the AFL, there are plenty of players who can match him for size, strength and power.

Thats why i want Lindsay. It's the kick under pressure you cant teach/ stands up at the level.

The thing that worries me about Lindsay is that he has the biggest bust potential with our pick.

Elite kicking is the only element to his game. He doesn't possess acceleration, his defensive application isn't fantastic, and he's shown minimal ability to play higher up the ground when trialled there.

You could be getting a player with the ceiling of Dan Houston who can break a game open with his kicking. Or you could be getting Alex Witherden, who lost confidence with his kicking and didn't have any traits to fall back on.

We possess a good system that can help alleviate some of these weaknesses but it will come down to how hard he is willing to work mixed with some luck.

I wouldn't be against the selection but still prefer Dovaston or Farrow.

We must see something in Greeves. We applied twice to AFL house about getting approval for him as a NGA product.
Also, Cumming isn't an out and out midfielder either. Doesn't really get the ball much. Averaged arou 14 possies a game. He's a AA half frwd because he does his best work there.
Reckon Greeves could be our choice if we're interested in a midfielder. Sharp will be long gone. Would love us to take a punt on Marsh or NHH if we're not interested in a mid.

He's the best kick in it.
It's unanimous.
He's an absolute technician. Can also win his own ball and looks a pure footballer.

I'd say he's a lock to make it.

Ive done a flip. I don't think there's anyone of high quality to use our pick ten unless Robey, CDT or sharp falls through.
Flick 10+22 to North for FF+ pick 26 from them.
Two firsts + 2027 first for Zack Butters. Done!
Port apparently need multi first and second round picks in 2026 for their three academy and f/s players.
I can't see why Zack would go to the dogs, just can't. Their midfield in 2027 will be very old and no real structure behind the ball, these things are important for A grade players who wanna make a career move.
It's us or cats. If not, Walsh would even cost less. I was against this last week but have come around to it.

I'm not taking Greeves at 10.
Could be there at 22.
Nor me… he looks like Jono brown playing midfield.. Marking and giving a handball off doesn’t make a midfielder.. He looks very dangerous up forward but as a midfielder he just does everything too slowly..
Farrow for me.. nice balance and poise. Nice weight on his kicking.. would like to see more penetration on his kicks but he looks a nice prospect..
Not against Lindsay either. His kicking alone makes him a pretty safe bet..

I’ve watched a bunch more highlights and read more about different players, yet my 5 minute initial investigation where I found Lindsay and Hibbins-Hargreaves the two I liked most stands.

There’s never a bad time to take elite users and finishers. You can teach many things, but elite skills rarely comes on after the draft.

I’ll back our team either way, I was also convinced DGB was a future AA captain at CHB.

we have to make up our minds what we need to make us a premiership threat, we used to have suckling during our premiership era and that is all the weapon he had, his foot, they used to dish off to him or Duryear for a shot on goal outside 50, but that is not what we currently need, so I cannot understand why we would even think about Lindsay. We were willing to trade 3 first rounders for a 30 year old mid, we also lost our in and under midfielder, so I think focus will be there. We have enough guys who can kick well on the outside. It is pretty hard when you are one dimensional player.

That would be North level incompetence. The only F1 i'd be interested in is Essendon's. Just imagine how fun that death ride would be.

And FWIW, I think trading out of this draft with so many list spots open is a risky move. I also think there has been a shift away from the value of draft picks and exposed form at AFL level is far more valuable. So, we would be in exactly the same position as this year, a pick around 9 + an end of first round. Not going to seal the deal..
Essendon will be better next year. They are not good - but they are not as bad as they ended up this year.

I’m happy to never deal with those campaigners again.

Hey Davo-27, why has Fred Rodriguez fallen down the rankings?
I think that after watching more vision of him, his speed is lacking, he is a good ball winner and contest winner, good in the air, good decision maker, good user of the footy and 1 of WAs best in the carnival, but he seemed to lack speed at times against his peers which is a concern and would hurt his draft value, he seems to have good endurance (getting around the ground) although im not sure how he tested af the combines, that seems to be an issue from the eye test.

It’s sharp at 10 for me if he gets there. LI don’t think picks change 1-8.
eagles are duursma and CDT they aren’t that stupid with their rucks and forwards to pass on him.
Tigers are Robey and Grlj after what they took last year.
Scum take Taylor and Cumming.
Dees take Schubert and Lindsay.
If crows get pick 9 they take sharp. Which leaves us Farrow or Dovaston or Oskar Taylor.
Trade 10 for 13 and 34 to eagles. They take Farrow, blues pick consumed with dean bid, gws take Taylor and we get Dovaston and 34.
22 take marsh or Harley barker or ludowycke.
34 take Nairn Murray Addinsall someone that slides from second round.

Good to see there's more and more getting on the NHH train. Not just on here either . I still think we flick ten and 22 for next year but for the now I'm huge on NHH. Along with Marsh, seems to be the most dangerous player anywhere near the frwd half. Just a smart mover as a half frwd.
Farrow, Marsh or NHH would be great.

We could get two of with NHH a chance at 22

Plus the Hawks Recruitment team have never seen a half back flanker they didn't like!

This guy feels very much like a "Hawks type selection".

Sam places a big premium on kicking, probably goes back to his time in the 3 peat squad where pretty much every player on the team was a good to very good to elite kick of the footy. They used to move the ball from one end to the other so quickly by foot.

From what I have seen Greaves is a good kick as well for a big lad so maybe we go Lindsay / Greeves with our first two picks?

I wouldn't be against that, would be a nice mix of inside / out with some forward marking thrown in.
