Inside mids can also be allowed to win uncontested possessions. Really its the aim for all mids these days, to be able to do both. The game has far too much transition these days, to not be able tothe guys bolded may be big (although I would argue warner and richards are debatable in that regard too) but they are not inside mids. Mcluggage has been playing wing most of his career, young/richards transitioned from running backmen to mids in the last 2 seasons and warner is half forward flank/midfielder hybrid.
Are they setting him up to fail?Have seen a few rumours floating around that they have earmarked him to fill the defensive-mid role that Setterfield was playing.
if we did that we'd setting the entire club up to fail. Are they setting him up to fail?

Are they setting him up to fail?
He is a clearance specialist. I envision him to be the type of player that can use his speed to burst away from stoppages (which he hasn't really done yet). Whilst he can improve defensively, he neither demonstrates the endurance, the ability to wear contact, the ability to tackle player after player, the competitiveness in contests and the instinct to run defensively.
If he plays, I want him to play in a position that gives him the best chance to succeed. He simply isn't that type of player.
Tsatas tackles plenty in the VFL in a role where hes ball chasingAre they setting him up to fail?

Atkins, Dunkley and Hewett are all extremely tough footballers who scrap for everything, I can't see how Tsatas can become this type of player.Tsatas tackles plenty in the VFL in a role where hes ball chasing
His greatest asset right now is his size, discipline and determination, all features of a good negator
He can still win clearance as a negator
Atkins, Dunkley, Hewett ect win plenty
It's all in the head. He's strong enough to do it now. He is most likely scared of getting hurt.Atkins, Dunkley and Hewett are all extremely tough footballers who scrap for everything, I can't see how Tsatas can become this type of player.
No current season stats available
I find your ideas intriguingTony Lockett kicked over 1300 goals, maybe we should play Tsatas out of the goalsquare.

The best role for him at this point is the one they want to give him, so hopefully he takes it up with both hands. Good teaching opportunity, he will probably get burnt at times but that's ok, we know he can find the pill, he's clocked that aspect already.
This is similar to what we tried to do with Perkins at times this year, that didn't look great but helped with rounding out his game a bit more.
He is clearly working on the areas he needs to and hasn’t stopped training. Let’s get behind the kid instead of knocking him at every opportunity
Nobody wants him to fail.A few people seem highly invested in him failing.
Nobody wants him to fail.
Everybody would love him to be the player he was projected to be.
There are just differing views on whether this will happen.
could say the same of those who are his most ardent supporters. There's a few posters who seem pretty invested in him failing. They've made a call, and they want to be right on the internet.

To me, I just see people with differing opinions. No need to make it personal.
Or let people have their opinion and then have the egg on face if they are wrong.Setterfeild wasn’t some defensive tackling beast at the start of his career either.
Tsatas showed he’s at the level at the start of last season. He also hasn’t gotten a good run from injury. Some kids we draft might go past him but he’s definitely capable provided he improves in some minor areas and a role is provided for him.

The criticisms are re players professional capabilities….or lack of.Few people could take this advice onboard when they're criticising players.

Nobody is saying Tsatas is a bad guy. I have not seen a post criticising anything connected to him that was personal in nature.
There are those who think he’ll be good and those who don’t. That’s pretty much it. Neither view is more virtuous than the other.
Show me a post attacking him or any other player personally and I’ll be the first to condemn it.
He doesn’t need to be Caldwell or Durham hard at it to be successful in our midfield. In fact it probably benefits him that he isn’t bumping heads with those fellas.Or let people have their opinion and then have the egg on face if they are wrong.
He has never been a hard at it player.
Nah. It's more shouting down the hype and the carry on about his development or lack of minutes etc. There's a few posters who seem pretty invested in him failing. They've made a call, and they want to be right on the internet.
I still maintain a Francis breakout season is imminentNah. It's more shouting down the hype and the carry on about his development or lack of minutes etc.
We went through all this same shit with Francis.
