Logan Austin to Norwood. Great signing. I think that's 3 or 4 ex AFL players running around there now

Yeah well done by Norwood everyone on here written them on Div 1 uneven and all that crap, just shows with a never lie down attitude and keep trying to move forward can do all the best to them and hope they get some more wins on the board great choice not to go down and take the easy option!

depends what the money is $$
150 to 250 a game I think is smart biz

So clubs do all the hard work developing them then the mercenary clubs pinch them? Not a great system. Build your own junior club and culture and you won't have to pay overs to steal other clubs, or of course take the easy option and throw money at them, then be left with nothing once they leave for a better offer

you are correct I was more saying id rather this tactic over paying bigger cash to 30+ year olds if I was a rebuilding club

It’s a no win situation for the kids home club to.
Pay up or lose

It’s a terrible culture and ends badly.

and yet Vermont do both haha. Always have an under 19s and yet still pinch other kids 😂

Yeah the kings of recruiting juniors in u15's, telling the parents it will get their kids noticed by rep footy/talent league coaches, just for when all the lies fall through and they end up playing senior footy for vermont anyway (as a one pointer convientally)

There are plenty of clubs that are horrible at bridging between their junior and senior clubs that set themselves up for failure.

Good call, confirmed.

Came about because of a “chance meeting” 😂😂

A chance meeting set the wheels in motion for the marquee signing, which long-time Balwyn football director Paul Johnson believes could off-set the fresh loss of dual flag ruckman Chevy Andersen.

“Jimmy actually ran into one of our past players, who’s also a sponsor of the club, Paul Finn, and Paul spoke to Jimmy and Jimmy asked for us to give him a call,” Johnson said.

“With Chevy having moved on to Tooradin, we were in need of a ruck-forward.

“He’s exactly what we wanted, he was very keen to come to Balwyn and we did it with the consent of the Port Melbourne coach, Brendan McCartney.

“He’ll be a good fit.”

The Tigers have also signed 198cm Port Melbourne key forward Jack Boyd, who is set to continue in the VFL and was aligned with Old Xaverians this year, ruckman Tim Castricum (Bayswater), 21-year-old goalsneak Kaleb Djordevic (Donvale), Collingwood VFL-listed midfielder and forward Tadhg McCarthy (Old Carey) and lightning-quick wingman Flynn McNamara (Old Trinity). Young South Gippsland and Geelong Grammar midfielder Oscar Tuchtan has also put in a transfer.

Heathmont have signed former AFL and current East Ringwood player Jamie Bennell as a playing coach. Hes getting on a bit in age but you would think will go well in Div 2.

The Basin are confident of signing young Fairpark mid Mason Byrne after meeting with him this week. Not the most damaging player ive seen, but gets a heap of the ball. Had 40+ this year up at Coldy on the big ground.

Taking the absolute pi$$ out the of the salary. All these money rumours that have been thrown around about Boronia offering players all seem to be 100% accurate.

But I’m sure Dave will come on and say he’s playing for free because of all his mates at Boronia 😂😂
