Or arrogance/entitlement.

What is the quote: Hard Work always beats talent when talent doesn't work hard enough.
This is true, but it’s also the reason why Collingwood put a line through the name Max Gawn

Our 37 will likely end up low 30's as the bids actually wipe out a bunch of picks in the teens/twenties/thirties.
Let's go, we are getting Greeves then. 🥳

Nairn, Greeves and whoever else Mich0 hates is what I want us to do, want to see him BIG mad.
He'll be that way regardless of who we choose.

Happy with Farrow if that’s how it goes. Nairn after having a read and look I don’t mind. But personally I reckon we should go Dovaston. Nairn seems to have plenty of scope for improvement and flexibility so that’s probably what we see in him. Knows how to kick a goal too.
Does he though? 22 goals in 13 games ain't all that much chop.

MELBOURNE

PICKS:7, 8, 37, 63, 65
Melbourne has two picks at the top of the order and late Cam Nairn is firmly in the Demons’ sights, receiving a late invite to night one of the draft. The SA medium forward or winger is highly rated by clubs, offers versatility and is well-rounded with his elite endurance and clean hands overhead. WA defender-midfielder Jacob Farrow is also right in contention, with his range set to start at Melbourne’s two picks, and Sam Cumming would be difficult to pass up if Essendon doesn’t pounce first. Eastern Ranges goalsneak Lachy Dovaston will enter draft calculations from Melbourne’s selections onwards, while SA tall Aidan Schubert fills a need as an athletic forward-ruck. The Demons have shown interest in Schubert, but there is a view he slides further. There were also early murmurs Melbourne will partner Kysaiah Pickett with his cousin, Glenelg goalsneak Latrelle Pickett. Melbourne is among the clubs in the 30s who could put bidding pressure on St Kilda for NGA prospect Kye Fincher. Melbourne committed mid-year to taking 201cm developing tall Kalani White, son of Melbourne great Jeff, as a father-son prospect, and he appears unlikely to receive a national draft bid. In that scenario, the Demons could either add him as a rookie or take with their last national draft pick. The Demons have filled their Category B rookie allotments after selecting college basketballer Oscar Berry, but NGA graduate Toby Sinnema is expected to be a train-on player with the Dees if he isn’t picked as a rookie.

Bits and pieces from Jason Taylor on Gettable today:

  • 'Best available with a touch of needs'
  • Said (in a general sense) there might be a few surprises in the top end of the draft
  • Was reasonably firm that we won't be trading picks (might be bluffing though)
  • Rates Kentfield as an improver for next season. 'Made of the right stuff'
  • Hinted that they expect White to be a rookie pick quite likely

I think most thought that was always gonna be the case?
Old mate will only pay attention to what he can rage against, has clearly been spending too much time on Demonland. Don't recall anyone here ever saying White was going to be a big deal.

Also, and I know I'm guilty of this too, but can we just maybe ignore Mich0 for a bit? Every thread is just full of him and answers to him atm. Needs to start that blog so he can express himself as often as he wants with less bother.

All that song and dance about who White was going to choose only for him to end up as a rookie.
I think the Dees were the only one's making any song and dance though. Suns have 2 kids in the top 4 of the draft. I'm sure Kalani was barely thought about. We dont have too many wins in academy or father/son, so we were hoping this kid would be something like his dad ir a Sam Darcy. Reality is he's gonna be a very long prospect. Bonus really to get him as a rookie and not give up a pick i guess. Less pressure on the kod too.
