How did it sit in the end? We gave up pick 7 for pick 27? Doesn’t look great yet, but I know the club rated Whitlock highly compared to what talls would be available this draft.

In a night of countless awful haircuts (well, at least twenty), his was a genuine contender for the single worst of them all. It better imbue some bloody Samson-esque quality to his game if I’m gonna have to watch those mongrel locks flowing in the breeze every weekend.

Extremely happy with the pick, wanted either him or Lindsay.

Best thing about the Dov is that he kicks goals in a variety of ways. Not totally reliant on marking, crumbing or pressure. He can score from every source, which makes him harder to shut down.
Also creates goals for others and provides multiple efforts.

The campaigner in him will serve us well. Would've loved to get the Wizard 2 years ago, but the Dov is a more than solid substitute.

You easily fit Banch (who looks to have come back for preseason in peak condition), Konstanty and Doveston in the same forward line. Doveston might be able to play up the ground in time. The others, if you accept them as small forwards which I'm not sure they are, can apply pressure from the VFL. It's a much more balanced list position to be in for sure. Larkey, Trembath, Duursma and Zurhaar is a very nice mix to have.

It'll have his manager on the phone to the Pies before round 1, 2025.

we won’t know for a few years if they were right or wrong.

The trade finishes Whitlock + Dovaston for 8 & F2 (plus change).
In isolation it was Whitlock + 26 for 8.

Both of those equations listed have potential to be good outcomes for North, but the key is in the development. Trades of draft age players usually can't be accurately assessed until after multiple seasons.
