lol quite fun watching MAGAts like Matt Walsh throw a tantrum over the expose of all the fake MAGA bots on X. He got especially riled up by an account called 'Garbage Human' that is apparently run by an Australian pretending to be MAGA and Walsh launched into a rant about us and how bad we have it here.

You would almost feel bad for the real MAGAs getting conned by foreign actors picking the bones of America and making money off their hatred and stupidity, but ya know, they're MAGA...so screw em. Work the marks.

i'll have to find it, he does enjoy hanging shit on Australia (mostly tongue in cheek) so it's nothing new there.

This is the big story.

They had DOGE cutting costs, telling everyone the budget would be saved.
Then it was the tariffs that would save the budget.

Now they've got the largest ever budget deficit, pissed off everyone, pushed millions off healthcare, pushed inflation up and still completely tanked the budget.

They're not MAGAts, they're MAGArds.

It's not a one-off deficit. The tax cuts they passed have done this to the budget and it will never recover.

This is on Congress as much as the President, because they should all know better.

But they're all incredibly, incredibly stupid.

It's so hard to work out if Treasury bills are going to tank with the economy or if they're going to sky-rocket thanks to the incredible debt.

Usually, Governments incur debt to boost the economy. This US Govt is doing it's own internal Brexit, where it's tanking the economy while also driving up debt just to prove a point about how they have every right to be as stupid as they want to be.

I don’t even think they’re stupid. They have a once in a lifetime opportunity to make unlimited bank with insider trading and funneling money from contracts to family business etc during a period where corruption is not just overlooked but the standard the president sets.
So long as they don’t upset the applecart they’re set for life.

Oh, yeah. The people in charge of both the Republicans and Democrats are making out like bandits.

But at least Democrat voters pretend to care about, and actually understand, budgets. The MAGArds have no idea, get shafted every time and still turn up to vote for those who are fleecing them.

I actually think it is stupid. Greed is always stupid, it's always destructive. Look how the US is devolving largely because of greed, assisted by it's companions stupidity and corruption. It's the same old story, the elites get too greedy, the poor get less and feel disenfranchised and the societies spiral into increasing anarchy.

Greed kills empires. This is not my idea, the late great, train loving historian Harold Perkin wrote extensively about the collapse of empires and how in most cases this occurs because the elites take too much. This describes the current state of the US. The big problem is they just don't see it, which is probably not surprising as these are folks who were dumb enough to tout a 'Greed is good' philosophy.

I've posted this before, if you haven't read it it's worth a look. It's a short article about Perkins ideas about greed and the elites.

The revolution will be a lot harder with the Government in possession of monitoring technology, drone tech and the like. All communication is effectively overseen by the Government and oligarchs completely, and they also run the media.

The oligarchs won't let go so easily this time. That United Healthcare CEO getting shot might be seen in 10 years' time as something which exponentially grows in the future.

It doesn't even need to be a revolution. A 'new' new deal would probably do, one that included a universal health care system, some industrial policy, rich paying more taxes, spending less on the military etc. However, their toxic national myths and the greed of their elites probably won't allow it, so the pressure is going to go up until something goes boom. What that 'boom' is I don't know, but I do know they are on an unsustainable path.

It will be interesting what response there is from Oz and other allies. It will be even more interesting to see the response of the US to our response.

I think the initial responses of 'allied' governments will just try to ignore it and hope it goes away.
This sort of thing might be an extension of his/their domestic strategy of redefining the red line to make it easier to be heavy-handed gangsters. So if the target steps over this new ridiculous line, then they can superficially be justified in doing some bullying or outright extortion.

two things are necessary for the benefit democracy. one is to stop private and corporate funding of political parties. two, is to ban lobbyists. we've seen time and again that politicians can be bought.

sums up my feelings perfectly. then there's the piss weak enablers who carry out his criminal divisiveness even though they can see he is barking mad
