Another that the Pies had enough of due to his off field drama. Ginnivan pushed out by Collingwood, rather than him initiating a move.
That is the real issue. You lost 3 players last season (66 games for 2025) and you're going to lose than many games conceivably for another 2-3 seasons in a row. That's 3 players a year you need to turn over around 10-12 players and find AFL level replacements. This is after a very lean period of drafting which doesn't appear to have been fixed yet although it is always impossible to tell the last 2 years until 2 years in the future unless they are very good.
I don't think the Pies should start trading old blokes for more capital but I would be worried about replacing the recruiting team and I'd stop trading first rounders.

A fair difference between the Pies pushing unwanted players out the door and Carlton unable to keep wanted players.
If you want a recent example of a Pie that wanted out - Henry who wanted to go to Geelong.

Pies, like all good clubs, are continually rebuilding.
We are smart enough to understand that you don't want to ditch the senior players and finish rock bottom anymore....the reward for a horrible season just ain't there anymore.
Using your silly logic, should do the same with Cripps, Carlton should have moved him on and getting some more picks for youth for the future.

Crippa is banged up and past his best. Carlton aren't winning anything with his anytime soon. Personally think Carlton would have been better off shopping Crippa around and getting a couple of decent picks for him for an injection of youth for the future.
West coast will fork up plenty in year or 2 when the time is right. For now, we will keep a close eye on Cody and trade up a few more 2nd round picks in next years draft for another top 5 selection. Im sure the club is all over keeping an eye on the future.

The point, which is a bit too hard for you is, players actively engage with other clubs in order to leave Carlton.
The players you and Walshy listed were all players Collingwood pushed out.
It took others to identify some actual equivalent players who we lost that we may have wanted to keep.

It's quite amazing that Carlton supporters equate the departure of these players - all of whom had any choice of whether to stay or go taken out of their hands - with the exodus of TDK, Curnow and Silvagni who couldn't get out of Carlton quick enough.
We know in hindsight that after Collingwood made the decision to move on Treloar, Grundy and Stephenson, we have contended for the flag 3 times in 4 years, winning one.
Let's see the impact of Curnow, TDK and Silvagni's departures over the next few years...
