Disappointed we didn't get to see Ward and Idun show up at Stringer's place to give him a jumper.

definitely. There's definitely an attitude across several of the clubs that you're better off paying "overs" if you can get the last player in the current tier per your rankings, or trade down if there's enough of your current tier to ensure one will still be available later in the draft.

Great point re Butters. That's the one that stung him. At least he's standing by his rankings now and making sure he gets the player he wants. I back himdefinitely.
Caruso has been really clear initially in semi private and now in the open about his thoughts which is that he has a draft hand and he wants to get the players they think are best for the Giants, they aren't concerned with winning trades or leaving players to later thinking they'll be there because they are rated lower.
I reckon that the Butters thing has proven to him to just pick the player he wants most first and if he really wants someone, he gets them. He rated Butters as the one he wanted most, but went Caldwell first, as Butters was supposed to be there at his next pick. He wasnt and the rest is history. He doesnt care if others think it is a reach.
Hill is an example he has used, he had liked him for years, so he made a few moves to get him.
I look at his drafting record and it is excellent.
Just for me, I liked him but didn't/ don't see an AFL ceiling there. Those 188-193cm defenders are the hardest to project imo so hopefully the recruiting teams got this one rightJust watched the other Finn's highlight reel.
I'd never really seen him (or knew anything about him tbh)
The highlights are quite eye catching and his numbers are good.
I wonder why he didnt get more fan-fare and draft talk given he was in the Vic Metro squad and what not.
I may be wrong, but I dont think I saw his name anywhere, yet albeit on limited vision, it appears he is quite an eye catching player.
What are your thoughts on Taylor? Apologies if you have already provided an opinion previously.Just for me, I liked him but didn't/ don't see an AFL ceiling there. Those 188-193cm defenders are the hardest to project imo so hopefully the recruiting teams got this one right
Really like him and think he was ultimately the best fit, good user with speed that has scope to move further up the ground if needed. Will need some work on his one-on-one stuff but could see him debuting early, but him and Harrison Oliver as a duo will be very strong long termWhat are your thoughts on Taylor? Given that I have barely seen his name mentioned many agree with you.Just for me, I liked him but didn't/ don't see an AFL ceiling there. Those 188-193cm defenders are the hardest to project imo so hopefully the recruiting teams got this one right
