The crowd milling on the ground around a rope and security guards is not a good thing, the girls and fans deserved a lap of hohonour.
Yeah I didn't like this was a complete surprise to me. I was sat up in the old stand on the wing near all the commentary teams. Great view from there I recommend it for our future finals for people dissing the ground.

Sound was crap through the speakers no longer work up there so I didn't realise it was going to happen. Plan was to watch them lift the cup from up there then go down and get some photos up close on the lap of honour. Anyone stay back latter what happened did they drop the rope at some point and fans could mingle in or were they all assorted off the ground by security or something.

Seemed massive delay before the presentation as well and some folks paying no attention doing kick to kick

There's a lot to be said about the way the team has been covered and commentated. I missed out on tickets and thus had the privilege of listening to both 7's commentary and Fox's chatting at the breaks. I think someone in here said they were surprised the way the commentators were low energy about a GF - I'm not surprised at all.

We are boring to watch for 17 other clubs and the wider AFL community. Our games are over at half time, if they weren't already over at quarter time. Some weeks it was over before the ball was bounced. We win in a methodical, pressure-heavy style, teams can't move the ball against us with any speed or excitement. If they do get through a heavy frontal press they're kicking it nowhere to Birch or Shannon or Ferg. They can't get us on the outside, they can't beat us on the inside, it's maybe - maybe 15 minutes of effort that we absorb and deflect. We maintain possession, we chip it around, choose the right option and before you can really fully comprehend what's happened someone is kicking our fourth or fifth goal and the game is over.

Commentary teams didn't get into the caper to commentate blowouts. They want exciting moments but they have to spend hours occasionally complementing our players and finding ways to fill in time and keep audiences engaged. As NM supporters it's unbelievable to watch for us and it's been genuinely awesome for the last 30 games or whatever. But I do get why we don't get covered with as much excitement etc.

That's all to not even mention the fact that nobody really wants us to succeed and the tenor of every talk show or podcast over the past week has been - how can Brisbane win, "if it bleeds we can kill it" (lmao), where can Brisbane find cracks. There are no cracks. This is a complete footy program, not even the side. It's the best of everything, all at once, coming at you at 100 miles an hour, for four quarters. Id love for that to be celebrated more than it is but it's just an unfortunate reality that it's...boring. For everyone but us.

Heard Dakota Davidson just made it to Ikon park, she was stuck in traffic
Unfit. Good for one effort a quarter. And playing against the best defensive setup the leagues ever seen. On a hiding to nothing.

You're being very diplomatic there.

They don't seem to hold back the fapping when other clubs dominate AFL or AFLW finals.

Yep and our accuracy in front of goal (helped by the 50 m penalties in a couple of cases). No yips at all for the girls!
You can read a lot into the game.

Brisbane are used to bullying teams into submission.

They knew that was their best chance but also (imo) knew that weren’t realistically at the level.

This led to loss of control.

‘Diplomatic’ is apt.

Alister Nicholson should be embarrassed by his efforts last night, that is if he has any interest in being considered a professional broadcaster. I wouldn’t have thought so though, his employer has been happy to pay him to barrack against North since we got a team.

It's a grand final that unfortunately both date and venue weren't confirmed. So it sucks, but I don't think we can be completely critical TBH.
Bull5hit. Everyone knows the GF will be the Saturday after the prelims and that we would be in it. Knew that at start of season - actually as soon as draw released. Sorry, but I reckon it stinks.

I’ve listened to plenty commentary lately when the game was over at halftime. It didn’t stop the commentary from lauding and cheering on the dominate team with excitement in their call.

Normally the commentary piggyback off a dominate crowd. 90% pro north crowd going nuts still couldn’t get the commentary up.
