I don't know if Starc is the right bowler for this method. You need to be able to vary the pace off the deck, and you need to get some to kick and some to skid. The uncertainty creates a lack of control.

Trouble is, none of the other bowlers except Patrick would have the top pace for it. And you don't really want Cummins bowling short all the time. Negates his best weapons.

Probably the flattest pitch we’ve seen in a while and the Poms last chance to stay in the series so they’re not playing idiotic shots for a change.

Definitely on our batsmen though as the Poms should be batting for a draw rather than being an outside chance at a win.

Unlikely still but as soon as it goes under 200 it’s a lot tighter than it should be. Only takes a couple of batsmen to apply themselves on this wicket and they’re a good chance given there’s nothing for the bowlers outside of the new ball.
