I would disagree.
Neser is class (albeit old) but guys like Richardson, Morris, Johnson, mcandrew and a few others are all quite good if we keep them fit (plus luckily we have some decent options for the all-rounder spot if green keeps failing including webster and hardie).

My bigger worry is the batting. Weatherald got in by default (and doesn't convince me) as we lack top order batters, usman and smith are almost done and we dont have any decent quality top order and middle order bats coming through outside of kellaway who is very young (I like connolly but I doubt his game translates to tests). Inglis is not a viable specialist batter option hes a Carey replacement and thats it.
We really lack the quality top order bats in the shield.

Speaking of Cummins, why isn’t he playing? I would understand resting him for an important upcoming test series or even (the real) World Cup, but this series is it. Are they really saving him for T20??? Bangladesh next year???

You’d think your captain would want to finish the Ashes on a high. It’s slightly concerning that he’s happy with one test in a summer and then needs another long rest. This worries me far more than his “wokeness” or any rubbish like that. He should be playing. He should want to.

Id give him a while as a batter if he was batting well (because our batting options are crap). But if hes contributing nothing with the bat both Webster and hardie would be more useful for bowling (someone like Jack Edwards wouldn't be too) so id drop him soon. I maintain that he needs to bat at 3 or 4 hes no good down the order.
