Why isn't Judd worth Pick 1??

Carlton refusing to give up pick 1 for an "unknown" to get arguably the best player in the competition.

If a third party gets involved to screw the Eagles over it just shows the fear factor that the Eagles hold over the Vic clubs.

Run scared boys, we'll still be there to ruin premiership hopes for most Vic clubs for the next 3-5yrs at least.

Why would you give up pick 1 if you do not have to?

If you can get a better deal ...take it. However you then take the risk of alienating judd.

Judd is worth 1 and 3 easily BUT Carlton knows that no other club could come close to matching that offer so they think that they are fine offering just 3 and some other stuff. Unless Collingwood offered Reid, Brown and #13 (their pick is about that?) and perhaps even more then Carlton is well ahead.

You have to remember that teams like Port Adelaide and Geelong have won flags without Judd in recent times and West Coast have lost a grand final where Judd was awarded best on the ground.

One player doesn't win a premiership.

During the rest of Judd's career, lots of teams will win flags without Judd.
