Round 2, Richmond v Collingwood @ MCG! There will be fireworks....
Why prodigy, do the tiges players and fans feel cheated in some way?, was the PF game ruined by bad umpiring? did the pies play dirty and cheap pot shot tigers players in the PF. The pies were the better team on that night and might have possibly past the tigers for talent and game plan, it happens. The tiges were showing signs late the year of not being the same dominate team they were earlier in the year. I too am hanging out for this game, for very different reasons to you, I'm expecting the pies to absolutely maul the tigers.

Round 2 - Richmond v. Collingwood

Let's hope the Tigers are at absolute full strength so as they can at least make a contest of the game.
It might the year the tigers are riddled with injury. I don't think they have same depth or the desire the Pies had last year. I can already see it, Lynch has had a limited pre season, broken noses, hamstrings, illnesses. The excuses will be flowing around 11pm R2.

Might be the year the Pies fall away too. A few injures to your playmakers and 'the excuses will be flowing around 11pm R2'. I'm looking forward to the game but I don't think we'll have another chance for a rematch in finals. The Pies will be knocked out week one.

what ever dude, your crystal ball is shit.

Geelong:
Round 1 vs Collingwood - It's flown under the radar, but the Cats have been having a huge off-season. I'm very excited to see us play on the big stage against arguably the best team in the competition. The return of Ratugolea and the Cats debuts of Dahlhaus and Rohan will be exciting to watch too

Round 2 vs Melbourne - We had three huge clashes with Melbourne last year: Max Gawn's miss, Zach Tuohy's goal and the Elimination Final. Will the match live up to the huge expectations it's bound to be given? Also, as our home opener, it'll be great to grace the GMHBA Stadium turf for the first time in 2019

Round 5 vs Hawthorn - Easter Monday is one of my favourite Cats games to attend, love the huge crowd, and last year's match was one of best games I have ever seen live, and the only time I've watched a replay of a game we lost because it was so good. We didn't beat the Hawks last year, it will be a great chance to see how we stack up and whether we can topple them for the first time since 2017

Round 17 vs St Kilda - It's not exactly the most exciting match up, but there are plans in place to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the 2009 premiership (damn where did that 10 years go?), and it will be fantastic to welcome back players like Johnson, Bartel, Kelly and Ottens to celebrate the achievements of 2009

Round 18 vs Hawthorn - In a similar vein to Easter Monday, matches against Hawthorn always have a special feel to them. This one comes at a critical time, depending on our form throughout the season, this match could either cost us or book us a spot in the finals. It's also our home game, so hopefully there's a big Cats crowd to cheer on the team

Neutral:
Round 3, Collingwood vs West Coast - After fighting out an incredible Grand Final which both teams deserved to win, the Grand Final Rematch will have plenty of feeling involved. Collingwood will be out to avenge the two finals losses to the Eagles, while West Coast will be keen to protect their turf and maintain bragging rights

Round 5, Brisbane vs Collingwood - The exciting and young Lions returning to prime time will be fantastic for footy, especially as it kicks off the 'Footy Fiesta' spanning Rounds 5 and 6. Dayne Beams returning to Brisbane will add some feeling into the match, and it has all the ingredients to be a cracker

Round 6, Richmond vs Melbourne - With both teams coming off successful 2018 seasons both teams are high in premiership calculations for 2019. Add in the thrill of playing on ANZAC Eve, and this match will be circled on the calendars of footy fans right around the country. If you're after a fast and intense match, this is the game to see

Round 9, West Coast vs Melbourne - It doesn't get much more exciting than Friday Night Footy, and this match is sure to be an enthralling match up. The Demons have hardly played on Friday Night Footy for over a decade, but in Round 9 they get the opportunity to travel to Optus Stadium to face the Eagles, the team who demolished the Demons in last years Preliminary Final, also at Optus Stadium. Will it be deja vu for the Demons, or will they avenge the embarrassment of the Preliminary Final

Round 12, Collingwood vs Melbourne - Both teams have big expectations hanging over their head for 2019, which are justified given their performance in 2018 and the quality of their lists heading in 2019. This match would be fantastic on its own, but with Neale Daniher leading the new Queen's Birthday tradition, 'Big Freeze', with the goal of raising money to end MND, the Queen's Birthday match, which was on the brink of collapse only a few years ago, has had new life sprung into it and is a highlight for both footy fans and the community as a whole

Richmond supporters on average did not say that B2B was a formality. We were well aware of the B2B challenges. I mean, the 2007-2011 Geelong side did not go B2B so it shows how difficult it is.

But according to some Richmond fans on here, the 2017 Richmond side was better then 2007-2011 Geelong side....

Who said that? A couple of Richmond supporters?

The minority do not represent the majority, and I know that the majority would not think that.

Collingwood supporters so quick to jump down the throats of any Richmond supporters who say they look forward to R2, thinking we feel cheated. Doubt you'll find many Richmond supporters who feel there was any reason for the prelim result other than a combination of Collingwood playing well, and Richmond playing poorly.

Doesn't go through your heads of course that
a) we enjoy seeing our club playing in massive games in front of massive crowds after years of mediocrity - same reason we've sold out every MCG final we've been in since 2013
b) the stretch of games from R2 to 6 is for us is intense. Collingwood, GWS (away), Port (away), Sydney (Docklands) and Melbourne. That will be season defining - come out with 3 or 4 wins and we put ourselves in a good position to contend again, drop 3 or 4 and we're pushing shit up a hill. It's a hugely important game to our season
c) we want to see the response of our players to the prelim, what we learnt and what plans we've devised to overcome issues

Round 1

Pies vs Cats
Lions vs WCE
Crows vs Hawks
GWS vs Dons
Freo vs North

After that the big teams playing against one another. Pies vs Dees Queens B-day will be a beauty as I expect them to be 1&2 on the ladder although perhaps not in that order.

ANZAC Day games look juicy.

Adelaide:
Round 1 V Hawthorn:
Hawks have had the wood on us for a long time and we are yet to beat them at Adelaide Oval since moving in 2014. Hawks have great support in SA, big crowd for the first match of the year should be a belter.

Round 2 V Sydney: Got the win over them in Sydney last year, hopefully, will be another Friday night special, one of the few matchups you see on a Friday night without a Victorian team

Round 8/Round 16 V Port Power: Showdown self-explanatory.

Round 10 V West Coast: Playing the premier is always an interesting game, West Coast have a solid record at Adelaide Oval, however, we've been able to get a few wins against them with last years come from behind win especially.

Round 13 V Richmond: Hopefully a mirror of round 2 last year.

Round 18 V Essendon: Depending on the how the season pans for both teams it could be a cracker especially if both teams are at the top end of the ladder.

Round 22 V Collingwood: Smashed us last year and was the game when Collingwood arrived as a top club, depending on how the season goes it could a have a lot riding on it.

Rd 1 vs Collingwood. 1st game I expect us to come out breathing fire. I have high hopes here.

Rd 2 vs Melbourne. Despite this being at home, my hopes aren’t as high but this is the test. Interested to see how much more Melbourne have improved if at all.

Rd 5 vs Hawthorn. Easter Monday, obvious reasons.

Rd 14 vs Port Adelaide AO. The game after our bye. If we haven’t fixed up this s*** I’ll be ropeable.
The bulldogs loss last year pi**ed me off a ridiculous amount.

Rd 20 vs Freo PS. I’m going to see the stadium and it’s my 1st interstate trip in a few years so I’m pumped already.

Neutral games.
Finally many marquee matches have significant meaning. I don’t usually care for games just because the teams have a lot of fans and fill a stadium. However Collingwood, Richmond And Essendon’s seasons finally have my interest.
Anzac Day Eve
Anzac Day
Indigenous game
Queens Birthday
GF Replay
Rd 2 Collingwood vs Richmond - surely Richmond are far more competitive?
