Not going to lie, Was not super happy to see Finch and Khwaja score runs. Feel only going to stuff up our world cup hopes more by them still very much in picture. Aussies should have got 350 plus but did not go on with it.

Finch was playing the World Cup no matter what so it's better he's at least in some form.

As for Khawaja, this innings will probably get him a back up slot or possibly SMarsh's place if he struggles across these games and the Pakistan series. Don't see how that stuffs up our chances with Smith/Warner coming back anyway.

Good luck with it. This is not going to work often enough to win a world cup. I am glad you are a true believer in such a line-up. I got more faith in a better line-up.

Never said I had faith in the line-up just that Finch/Khawaja scoring runs doesn't really change that much.

We can talk about Short all day long but since he wasn't selected for the Pakistan series there was no chance he was playing the WC even if Finch continued to fail.

Who was going to replace Khawaja? If he failed it just meant one of Handscomb or Smarsh take the spot and judging all on form I'd say Khawaja is at least just as good. I know Smarsh had a good year last year but he's approaching 36 and is unlikely to get any better so for me choosing either Smarsh/Khawaja doesn't really make a difference.

No! i'm hoping not see Khawaja ****s us up or Finch.but I think I'm likely to see the **** us up. If they play I suspect be lucky to even make a semi-final. We will sink and never have hope of swimming.
can't change your view point but I can tell you that it isn't so low that you can't wear your floats or your floats.. oh **** this spell check...

you can welcome a new chap on the team and handle it with aplomb...

I am just stoked for Finch because he has had a rough trot with the bat and the leadership and been called to lead the troops into
battle..

He just needed that one trigger to get his mind straight..

Well the Big Bash Hacks XI would be lucky to win a game so Australia is much better off with Finch in form as the bowlers in the world cup are a bit better than James Faulkner and Sean Abbott!!! Rashid Khan is probably the only bowler who played most of the Big Bash who will even feature in the World Cup, that shows the standard your T20 hacks faced and why they have never translated that into international cricket

Finch, FFS, know he is a nice bloke, but FFS, he going to get bowled, lbw etc. early on about 2 out of every 3 innings in England. big Bash has no relevance, FFS as your wicket counts for very little in it. In 50 over cricket it counts a lot. He is a walking liability early in innings. There are way more reliable options.

Give me any of Short, Warner, S Marsh, Burns or Renshaw opening in England and would feel a more solid base to start with. As long as it not Finch we stand a better chance. ****, even Bancroft would make me feel better. Just not ****ing Finch. He can open in 2000 T20's for all I care, but one day internationals, get the **** out, please....wickets mean something in a 50 over innings.

Right, pick blokes who average mid 20s in ODIs, that is valuing your wicket...Does Renshaw even play white ball cricket for his state? Finch averages more at ODI level than Short, Burns, Renshaw or Bancroft average at domestic level...If Marsh is opening who is batting 3 and 4?

Warner and Finch opening won Australia a World Cup and right now Aaron Finch has the most centuries of any current Australian ODI cricketer but yeah he is the problem in the ODI side

what dream World are you living in. Other players won us the World Cup. not ****ing Finch, He made a duck in the final FFS, what game were you watching ?
Mate, I could not give a shit about his average. I care what he does in games that count which is so few every 4 years I do not want another **** up from him ruining our chances. Do you see how many times he is out to ball swinging which going to be regular in England. Clearly talking to a Finch fanboy.

The ball won't swing in England for the WC, except for Root none of Englands flat track bullies can hit a moving ball so they tailor the pitches for them. Finch plays exactly like those white ball wonders so he can do damage over there if he keeps his form up.

I must say I love the Finch posts sack him drop should never play for Australian again thanks for the laughs....and Kohli is not Viv's ball sacks

Sorry mate, i worship at the shrine of Viv Richards and would leave my wife for him if offered half a chance.

But no one is as good as Kohli in one day cricket and really Richards and De Villiers are probably the only two players even in the conversation with him.
