Doubt it. Handscomb is important as a bat.

Carey really is a liability with the bat at the moment. Just can’t hit the ball well enough for the role that he’s coming in at.

Obviously his keeping is good, but how much better is it then Handscombs? Is the difference so big that it makes it worth sacrificing another lower order hitter ie. Turner or even another pace option who can bat a bit ie. NCN?

Quick answer- he’s a lot better than Handscomb with the gloves. You don’t go in with a part time/fractionally more than that keeper in Handscomb. You are asking for trouble

The problem is everyone is thinking of Handscomb keeping when he first started doing it for the Stars, don’t accept he has improved as he does it more often. They then ignore the fact Carey drops sitters, misses straight balls etc if trying to claim his keeping is miles above anyone...
