Nevertrumper Rich Lowery - insightful piece:

The prudent thing for Trump to do once the Mueller probe got going would have been to cooperate without complaint and bide his time awaiting his eventual vindication. Instead, Trump fought like a caged animal (while actually cooperating with the probe).

lost me immediately, Trump won the vote by targetting the press as the enemy, and the press were a willing party to this pantomime, all because Trump lacked gravitas and mien; "not my President"

This confected embroglio has played into Trump's hands of re-election perfectly, why be silent when his entire support was based on his rally supporters who listen to him in soundbites and twitter, protest Mueller and the Dem's conspiracy. You are more politically adept Jane, than assuming it would have worked best for DT at the ballot booth, to just be quiet over these past 18months. That is not DT, and existing heuristic says he has success playing the constituency off the break like Brian Lara through covers. But the Nate Silver Antony Green and psephologists and other commercial polling firms just farked up first time. They will heck up second time, respectfully Guru. cheers, la pussie noir.

And your point is?
My point was that an investigation lasting nearly two years has apparently failed to prove collusion. How much more time do they need?

The Democrats excuses for losing the 2016 election are at "the dog ate my homework" levels. It was their responsibility to motivate enough people to vote for them. They failed to do that in several key states and lost. Blaming Russian trolls and memes on Facebook is pathetic.

yeah ... but Rich is a Nevertrumper, although he's getting more won over the longer it goes on. The Kavanaugh imbroglio had big effect on the establishment conservatives. I think they'll all be Trumpers by 2020.

FISA happened in the middle of 2016
Comey was integral in the dossier going public
It all goes back to the dossier and the loser of the election's vivid imagination

I'm aware of the timeline - specifically that Trump fired comey on May 9 and the SC was appointed on May 17.

Mere coincidence I assume lol

I'm more stunned that that horrible man can be president because most people didn't vote for him.

Although Californians and New Yorkers think they are the only people who matter they can’t win you the presidency . Trump got the votes where it counted elsewhere.

Yet the statement I replied to was about winning the most votes, not the votes where it counted. Trump certainly played that game better than the Dems.

Would be nice to read the whole report but doesn't sound like that will happen anytime soon.

Even if Mueller did find collusion, not sure what the Dems are really trying to achieve anyway. So it gives them an excuse as to why they lost the election? They shouldn't be so stupid that they think any collusion would matter to the GOP voters, or that it would mobilise their own base to vote. Impeaching Trump and installing Pence is also a stupid move.

Should just go back to setting a policy agenda that would get their voter base to vote for them instead of continually demonising the opposition, at this rate they'll lose the election again

So, defunding the special Olympics to pump up charter schools because the disabled should raise their own money.....

$7billion less for education. Because who needs an education? Not those kids in those shitty states and towns.

Bet defence gets a funding boost
