Very hard to get a read on Geelong in general given Collingwood kicked themselves out of a win in round 1 and Melbourne are bloody awful right now.

They got absolutely smashed in the middle by Melbourne who then butchered the ball going inside 50. Collingwood looked faster than them but kicked 4.9 in the first half then tired.

I reckon we can win, but we'll have to play well and clean up our delivery inside 50. If Geelong park two defenders deep inside 50 and we just bomb it to them like Melbourne did we will lose badly. But if we win the midfield and lower the eyes we definitely have the talent to win

Pretty much summed it up.

Out: Jacob's, Murphy, Lynch
In: Fogarty, Stengle, Davis,

Jenkins in the ruck. Fog down back. Keath up forward.

Kelly aside their 'new look' midfield has been bashed in both games. If Melbourne played semi intelligent football they wouldn't have been blown away like they were.

So for Sauce not to play you'd have to think his leg is getting amputated. Probably rule him out for a month

Sounds like the knock stirred up an old/existing injury

Has perhaps avoided surgery on it for a while but now getting harder to do so (hence the TBC - deciding whether to let it settle then soldier on, or to go under the knife now).

Would help explain his ever increasing lack of mobility over the last 12 months too

If he needs surgery eventually then why not just do it now. We have ROB in the side who is capable of filling a spot and from what I've seen of Hunter this year thus far he looks a completely different beast to the guy who came to the club

Because he turns 31 next week. A lay off after surgery now he might feel is curtains for him

Which would bring into serious question their lack of recruiting a ruck.

I know it’s only early days but Hickey is going alright at West Coast isn’t he? This from a club that has Vardy and NicNat, they still go out and get a ruck. We’ve got a 31 year old on his last legs and we get a guy from the VFL.

I can only think that we've got our eye on a long term target but can't get it in plave until next season

Bloody hope so, in the meantime we’ve gone into a season where we are a chance with an ageing list, we needed to give this year our best shot

I love all the conspiracy theories from the Tools and Trolls.

1) Why wasn’t ROB played last year? The T&T’s were clearly unaware he was unavailable due to injury.

2) After JLT1, we must play ROB. Now, let’s try JJ, Himmelberg, FOG.......

3) JJ is not a ruckman’s arseh*le. After a solid 15 minutes in ruck when we lost the clearances, JJ the Ruck God.

4) Before round one, we must play the KIDS. After round two, drop Jones and/or Murphy.

5) Last two years, why do we play injured and unfit players. This year, why do we refuse to play Greenwood and Gallucci?

That’s GOLD Jerry, comedy GOLD.

Actually Strachan played more in the Bendigo League than the VFL. ;)

That said he didn't look too bad up forward on the weekend before he copped a concussion....took one really nice contested mark and looked like a very athletic mover for a big tall bloke.

Plus they picked up Brooksby as extra coverage.

Extra Extra No one gives a shit.

That's intetesting

What new rule changes do we have in store to fix this I wonder?
1.Handicap system
2.Uneven umpiring
3. 765 format instead of 666 7 being forwards.
4. Defenders have to wear an eyepatch or high heels 👠.

Absolutely no need whatsoever for Jacobs to play

It's a long season.

We're 1-1 so not a must win game.

Only rucking against Stanley, so not one of the superstars

His understudy is fit and well.

The only thing that could see him take the field is stupidity.

I’ll bring my T-shirt just in case.

It's probably worthwhile remembering that the entire Geelong team is playing after only a 5-day break ... so if we have to play one or two players with the same prep time, it shouldn't be the end of the world.

They are only 2 games into the season.
I don’t think 1 day will make a scrap of difference to Geelongs ability to play. Or ours. Maybe if this was the game before the bye but not now.
