so he's supposed to let him run off his line and get a head start on him cos the umpire was too slow to call play on? I know that's "technically" the rule but a bit of common sense wouldn't go astray

I really am not a fan of those holding the man frees. The player is unaware of the ball coming free and completes the tackle. The rule wasn’t introduced for that.

it's a bloody hard game to officiate. You only have to be at a game to see fans from different sides view the same incident in different ways.

The main board should be called the whiner's board.
