Selective memory has nothing whatsoever to do with it. The OP called out Essendon supporters as disgusting for booing, so logically must have been disgusted by Collingwood fans Round 1 on Ablett - pretty simple really.

And, it's a damn AFL game, not the bloody remembrance shrine no matter how much the AFL monetises the event......
Oh okay - so Geelong fans booing Ablett when he played a the Suns was okay too.
No problem then.

If you cant distinguish booing a champion player during a medal presentation on ANZAC Day than during a game then I feel sorry for you.
Hope you don't have kids.

They were booing Pendles because he is a flopper. Flopped in the last quarter and went down as though shot. Essendon fans obviously didn't appreciate it. To be fair, as a neutral supporter I watched the flop and thought it was weak. I don't respect that. Its soft and I think that is why he got boooed.

Totally agree. As a Pies fan it’s the one thing about Pendlebury I truely detest. He milks frees like Selwood, and that effort in the 4th was not what you want from a captain in my view. I can forgive him for not being particularly hard at the ball, but I can’t respect a diver.

And the Anzac medal is to be given to the player that exemplifies Anzac spirit the most in game day (including fair play). Diving is not fair play. If an Essendon player dived like that and then won the medal I’d probably boo’ed him as well. Because diving should not be rewarded, and in no way shape or form does diving personify the Anzac spirit.

My issue with the booing, was it was done while someone from the RSL was giving out a medal, called the ANZAC Medal on ANZAC Day.

That’s disgusting, know the moment Essendon supporters
Thats the AFL's fault for trying to market footy as ANZAC Day. Cheap act

Booing has been around as long as the game has.

Were Essendon fans specifically booing Pendlebury though? To me, they were booing the outcome of the game and the role the umpiring played in it and not Pendlebury specifically. It probably wouldn’t have mattered which Collingwood player won that award because they were probably still going to boo in the award presentation.

I am not saying that Essendon supporters should have booed, but taking things out of context can end up causing avoidable drama. Buckley could have interpreted the situation a little better in my opinion.

Man he actually got kneed in the head, its not like he pulled a full on ben brown or a standard run of the mill football (soccer) flop

Are you seeking to distinguish the two so as to regard one as permissible and the other inappropriate?

Nick Riewoldt is 100% correct, it's the fans' prerogative to express disapproval via booing.

Instead of criticising the paying patrons, perhaps examine what's pissing them off.
Exactly. Without the fans these guys wouldn't be earning all this cash and there would be no league

Are all moderators employed by the AFL? Sure seems so sometimes
So because I act as a mod on the Bulldogs board, my opinion must fall into line with the AFL? Most of what the AFL do is dumb. Constant rule changes, p*ssweak umpiring, yeah- the AFL are doing a super job

Essendon really are the Donald Trump of footy.

Want everyone to ignore the blatant cheating and dodginess.

Then one or two things don't go their way and the enormous, toe curling public dummy spit comes out.

I don’t believe your claimed “impartiality”. Doesn’t ring true.

That’s ok we know for a fact you aren’t impartial..your logo says it all.

Id be too embarrassed to come out and try to blantantly lie and pretend my team wasn’t heavily favoured. It’s ok you won and you get the 4pts but don’t come out and pretend like you didn’t get handed it by awful umpiring..

Clown.

Hope the AFL also starts paying attention to how the pies use Cox just to block out around De Goey
You’re incorrect on all your points. You might want to look up the meaning of unanimous.

If you were not a completely one eyed pie supporter, you saw that game for what it was -a joke. Numerous Pies supporters have already put their eight behind the truth that this was a shit show and collingwood got quite the helping hand.

If i am wrong, then i am only wrong because slanted idiots like yourself exist that cant say a spade is spade, because it suits their own self interest

It was almost as bad as Collingwood supporters jeering Andrew Mcleod when he went down an injured in the 2002 PF.
???
Some sad and obscure reference to an incident that happened 17 years ago?
Is that all you’ve got on the Pies?
Embarrassing

No one was booing Pendlebury because he's Pendlebury. They were booing the disgraceful umpriing and a soft free that they felt he received in the final quarter. It's not a great look, but don't try to make it look worse than it is.
Then boo the "disgraceful umpires" - that gifted your side two goals btw - not a true champion of the game whilst he is accepting a well deserved award on a special occasion.
Buckley was right to shame the scum that booed.

He did what many players do and milked the free. So what? That's clever play. It's not his fault the umpire fell for it. It's frustrating for opposition supporters to see umpires fall for it and you end up booing. Nothing wrong with that either.

However booing Pendlebury was poor as it wasn't his fault the umpires were crap.

Are you saying the booing of Pendlebury was appropriate?
That's the issue.
Answer the question - the rest is just deflection.

Lol. Answering a simple question with a question. I put the question to you and you claim the balance of the issue is deflection. If you don’t want to answer what is a simple question then you’re entitled to do so.
