Hello Eagles fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

hawks gunning for pick 1 as well
shit is getting spicy

'Flight risk' has always been overstated. We've had no issues retaining Vic players, and a lot that have come have decided to stay in Perth.

The last player we lost to a 'go home factor' as far as I can remember is Lycett? And before that was Ebert?

Edit: Lycett also had a bigger offer from Port.
Don't mention Ebert around here, the old guard still get their fur up over it,
Funny to see actually whenever port and us are possibly going to be in negotiations. The old reverse Ebert!

Rather it went to Hawks than Norf or Melbourne, provided they can make an adequate trade.
Send pick 1 to GC for pick 4, Moyle and something else of value. Not like they'll be needing those anyway. Throw some junk back to make the points work for them. That should suitably mess with everyone.

Becomes 4,6 and 14 after the McKay compo

Reid (Melbourne), McKercher and Curtin (both North) will be gone

Leaves us Duursma at 4 and O’Sullivan at 6 as the most likely then best available at 14 which could be a multitude of players who I’m largely unfamiliar with

Another player with our pick 20 wherever that ends up and we’re out of the draft potentially

It’s a bit on the underwhelming side unless North don’t get band 1 and we can get either Curtin or McKercher at 3
100% spot on. If we send Reid to Melbourne there’s no way North don’t take McKercher and Curtin. So at what ends up as 5 and 7 we (on talent) have to take 2 of Duursma, Watson and Caddy. 2 of whom are the biggest flight risks in the draft and one of whom is the biggest flog in the draft. So the alternative is reach for a KPD (O’Sullivan) with one of the picks and hope the other doesn’t go home. But then why the **** are we doing a trade that leaves us taking a KPD at 6 that isn’t Curtin? That’s nuttier than a squirrel turd. Then 13 ends up as 19 after all the BS and who’s there? Tholstrup? If we trade this pick it will IMO be one of the worst decisions in the history of our football club. Take the best player who can play anywhere and will put bums on seats and $$$.

Not sure how they can make an offer that Eagles would accept.

that was always highly likely given how crooked vfl house is. ******* pisses me off really. in an uncompromised draft scenario we take reid 100 times out of 100.

We did get a couple of days that indicated it wasn't going to happen.

Reid is no flight risk at all. His said it himself he will play anywhere. His manager has said he will play anywhere a few times now.

It's so easy for draftees today to just make it clear they don't want to come. Sheezel last year made it very clear he didn't want to come. That's a flight risk.
Reid I don't see any flight risk as he would of made it 100% certainly that he has no interest in coming to us. On top of that he is not Melbourne based. People get mixed up with Melbourne the city to the whole of Victoria as flight risk. He lives near Echuca out in the country. Even Bendigo to him is about 1 hour travel. He'd knows he would have to travel for any club and relocate for any club if he was to play AFL.

This bullcrap Vic flight risk is spin because we are getting the best talent. Posters here need to get a grip on that fact. Gets tiring hearing it when there is nothing at all that indicates it except pathetic Vic media spin.

Who cares who says what.

The club will do its due diligence and from that decide if he's a flight risk.

And that is what will decide what they do. Not McClure or anyone in the media..

No no you got it wrong ,Rawlings will decide that ..

What are you assuming GC get for their R1? Is it fair or way overs? The Dogs are looking at giving up 10, 17, a F1 for 4 and a F3? I assume Norf would need to trump that with an even more inflated annd over priced deal yet all you can offer us is a fair swap for a generational talent.

Fair is not what will turn the Pieman’s head. We want elite talent and picks 20 and 21 will be mid 20’s on the night and whilst good, my order is not showing it as elite so it is a pass from me
GC were basically getting 34 & 39 from you, and 14, 40 & 52 from NM.

That’s about 2800+ points (but I haven’t factored in any compo picks pushing these picks back and eroding the final points value).

And it still gives GC pick 14 to trade again for more points.

You or GC (or both) could try and squeeze one of those future PP’s from North as well, but I believe that’s way, way overs.

Unless they trade out someone of quality they simply don’t have the draft capital to make a trade for pick 1

They have this years R1 which will be 4 after the McKay compo and their F1 which could be as low as 3 if they stagnate in 2024 or somewhere closer to 10 if they continue to improve

Their next best pick this year is currently 30 and they can’t trade their F2 if they give us F1

Pick 4 this year and say 6 next year - I’d rather Reid

I don't think Reid is a flight risk at all and I doubt the Eagles do either, it's not about that, it's about how quick we can rebuild our team and the best way to do so is with as many top picks as possible.

Simmo wants to be the youngest team in the league within two years.

No the best way to go is to add a Elite player along the way to add to Ginbey , Hewitt,Hough and Chesser ..

You'd think if Oliver is going to be moved, North would be in the boxseat. Particularly after they get their shady McKay FA compo.

Kangaroos trade Pick 2, Pick 19 and one of the Future FRP's due from the AFL's tasty handout to the Dees. Received Oliver. Kangaroos take Curtin with Pick 3 compo from McKay to get the backman they desire, plus get Oliver as a drawcard and one of the better mids going around.

Dees than have Pick 2, Pick 5, Pick 13 and Pick 19. They can make a strong offer for Reid at that point, which we may or may not accept depending on how far ahead we view Reid as a prospect. Alternatively, Melbourne start their list regeneration with Dursma/McKercher/Watson/Caddy/O'Sullivan all options with their early picks depending on where things land.

I don't think there's any universe where us having pick 1 is the worst position we could be in.

We either take Reid and he adds significantly to our young stable, or we trade it for a historic haul that adds a number of highly touted youngsters to our list.

I'm of course in the take Reid camp, but it's hardly the worst position to be in. We call the shots, and we either get the best young player in the land or we get multiple first round picks to fill list holes.

Even more to the point, it might be the best time we could have pick 1, with norf receiving all the AFL charity draft picks, its means they have plenty of high picks to pay overs, when normally the second last team wouldn't.

Go home factor? For Gods sake people, it’s three years not two. Have any of you people ever left home? Two years away from mummy in the best city in Oz with a team on the rise, surrounded by beautiful women,a pay packet on the rise, he won’t even want to go home on holidays!
Three years locks any level headed kid in for life.He hasn’t come across as a sook like Sheezel.
Throw all the f**king No’s you like at WC but 8,12,14,15? Mean s**t!
Please get over this quantity over quality it’s getting boring!
Indeed - was out for dinner in Freo at a nice Italian restaurant and was surprised to see a young Campbell Chesser was out for dinner with a young lady friend rather than heading home for a holiday. Good signs people!!

Probably just dreading the drive back and postponing it as long as possible...
