8/325 after being sent in is a decent result

We’ve also managed to score at a good rate (3.6rpo) which means we’re in a good position to have a bonus points lead giving us control of the match as a draw becomes as good as a win

Bonus points are handy but with a 5 day match, scoring down across the comp and no chance of rain, you’d be pretty surprised if there aren’t 20 wickets taken in 450 overs of play.

I mean, two years ago we had a draw. It happens.

Taking the BP lead allows a team to dictate terms to an extent. They don't need to declare the third innings to set a total, or to chase 400 on the final day. Basically, it gives that side the option of a draw, whereas the other team has to manufacture a win.

Was there rain two years ago?

We just kept on batting in the third dig. Game got called off early cos we were so far ahead. Hardie went big.

Yes, WA scored 386 batting first with Bancroft scoring 141, Whiteman made 85 and Rocchiccioli smacked 50 off 29 balls batting at number 10. Victoria were then bowled out for 306, trailing by 80.

WA then found themselves 5/110 before Whiteman and Hardie added 174 for the sixth wicket. Whiteman was bowled for 123 while Hardie reached three figures prior to stumps. In the end, WA made it to 7/400 at lunch on the final day, leading by 480 with two sessions remaining before Victoria conceded defeat. Hardie eventually finished on 174 not out.

Vics also had the chance to go for the bonus point and had wickets in hand, but were overly cautious with the bat and that ultimately lost them the match.
