How was he supposed to do it in a few days. We offered 60 odd they came back with 20 odd. what did he do wrong How in your opinion do we get it done after they asked for our 2nd pick.
He’s a soft target.

Do you think Sydney would be digging their heels in if a good recruiter with a reputation for getting deals done was running the show?

The Sydney bloke is just waiting for Rawlings to crack so he can add his first notch.

FFS everyone on here knows how soft Rawlings is when it comes to deals, you only have to look at the CCJ deal where he actually held the whip hand and grabbed ankles, to know he’s a pushover.

A ****ing Woolworths checkout chick could have made a better fist of that deal.

The icing on the cake was sending Tarrant for free so Richmond could keep their Chol compo. Talk about amateur hour.

If I was an opposition recruiter I would be waiting for Rawlings to buckle, because you know it’s most likely going to happen.

Oh great post

I’ve heard you wanted to trade pick 2 for Caleb daniel

Is that how it works? Randomly make stuff up

This is such a dumb thing to say. You have no idea of the ins and outs of what we proposed. GC wanted too much and we left the room. We are testing the waters with different scenarios. Honestly some of the posting, particularly today has been pathetic, even for this board.

You continually throw jabs at Rawlings. As if he is seriously the one making all the decisions. Clarko had his finger prints on everything at Hawthorn and would be even more involved with us, along with Viney.

Give it a rest. Nostra is, for once, 100% correct. We dodged a bullet.

I agree he’s useless he was list manager at west coast and now us and he’s been hopeless at both clubs

ROOS' PLAY FOR DANIEL

NORTH Melbourne's pick No. 25 could pave the way for Caleb Daniel to land at Arden Street by the end of the Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period.

The Kangaroos offered the second-round pick to the Western Bulldogs in exchange for Daniel and pick No. 48 late last week, but that offer was rejected by Sam Power.

Daniel hasn't requested a move to North Melbourne and isn’t expected to formally submit a request, but is interested in a fresh start at the Kangaroos.

The 28-year-old has two years to run on the four-year contract extension he signed in 2022, but was squeezed out of Luke Beveridge's side at times in 2024.

Daniel played eight games for Footscray across two four-game stints in the VFL, while also starting as sub seven times at AFL level, as well as being subbed out of one game.

Bailey Smith and Jack Macrae have both officially requested trades out of the Whitten Oval and the Bulldogs are reluctant to let all three depart in the same window, but will consider a compelling offer for the South Australian. Pick No.25 alone would be considered compelling.

Sydney has been eyeing pick No.25 for Luke Parker after the former Swans skipper requested a move to North Melbourne. The Kangaroos have tabled pick No.62.

North Melbourne has maintained strong interest in Daniel and could eventually be prepared to part with pick No.25 for the 2020 All-Australian.

The Kangaroos landed Jack Darling from West Coast on the opening day of the Trade Period, sending pick No.67 to the Eagles for the veteran.

North Melbourne has used six top-five picks in the past four AFL Drafts – Colby McKercher, Zane Duursma, Harry Sheezel, George Wardlaw, Jason Horne-Francis and Will Phillips – as well as six other picks inside 30 during that period. – Josh Gabelich

Lol, GC will just end up giving all those future picks away for nothing next year in the endless cycle.

Maybe we should offer them pick 25 right now, then on-trade them (or do a double death-ride just for the hell of it).

Do you think they'd take 44 instead of 25?

No one is. But people are counting them as locks by referring to them in relation to Houston. Both are far from proven.
Not that was my point. Houston once upon time was in the exact same position.

They might flop, but how do you know unless you give them the opportunity?

It’s a ****ing rebuild. It’s all about stocking up on talent and developing them. You make a play for someone like Houston when you are challenging or have sold him the vision.

The fact that we aren’t challenging, couldn’t even sell him the vision, and was prepared to give up over a for Pick when we didn’t have his commitment, is ****ing dumb from a List Management perspective.

People keep referencing it’s been a 5 year rebuild. It really hasn’t. We had to fix the disaster of the Noble rebuild, so we are literally only a couple of years in.
