Any inclination on Duursma's being 'homesick' or happy to move interstate?
This is where you point to any one of a dozen players who were rumoured to be homesick, and played out years of a career in another state.

Even old Juddy, who had a stunned mullet face on draft day, stayed for six years, and might well have stayed longer but it apparently his missus had dreams of being a D-list celebrity in Melbourne*.

(*best thing about Judd leaving was that WA doesn't have to put up with the Twiglet's constant moaning .... well that and Josh "Steak Knives" Kennedy)

I imagine he'd be put with a host family that lives on the beach in a mansion, and Harley would show him the ropes. He'd be happy pretty quickly when starts getting the pick of the hippie club as well.
Do we still do host families? Every time I hear about an interstate draftee nowadays they are just living with other players

Gun mids win you finals, last night's game is proof of that. Adelaide have 1 gun mid in Dawson, the rest are B's and C's.

Brisbane will probably win the flag again with the best midfield in the comp.

We're of to a decent start, Harley is a superstar, Hewett is projecting to be an A grader, Gross has potential to be an A, Bo Allan (hopefully)

We need two more A's ideally, (Sharp, Cumming, Duursma, Grij) could be A graders. Warner in a couple years to complete the midfield.

Massive overrating of Hewett and Gross.

We all hope, and have seen signs that show capability, but both are a long way from showing the consistency to say they are likely or potential A graders.

No issues if they turn out as solid role players either. Just not locked in this early as elite or likely elite regular contributors

Hewett as an A grader when Soligo who is one year older and showed a lot more last year when he was Hewetts age is amusing.

The best clubs have 2-4 A grade mids, Lions with 4 as the outlier(traded away 2 years of picks for one, then still drafted one that same year lol).

Imo we have Hewett as a hff/mid(still unknown, could be more of a hff long term, need to see him with more of a tank), McCarthy as somewhere between B and A- mid, Gross probably B grader, Hall B grader at best- role player probably, and Allan unknown.

Warner if we got him would be 1, if we drafted Sharp+Duursma thats 2 hopefullys, so potentially thats us up to 4, maybe 5 depending on McCarthy or Allan.
We would be well covered.

Not heard at all that he is a crybaby little girly man.

Na i'm confident Hewett will be an A grader. Key word with Gross is 'potential' i never said he will become one.

check our 06 line up! There is A grade and then there is top shelf.

Our 2006 team was quite bizzare - it was all done in the middle of the ground, plus Darren Glass. But that midfield, well it was something else, and could paper over all the monster cracks that the team otherwise had.

Basically it was 14 midfielders, Cox, Glass, Hansen, Lynch and Seaby

I’ve been thinking about this post for the last 40 minutes and it’s so true isn’t it?

Our spine was minimal and workmanlike with our only star talls being Cox and Glass. Everyone else was a role player.

It was a flawed team, but a beautiful team.

Since it’s a real possibility that we may take CDT.
Does he have that match winning ability? To do something mecurial and change the game. Take a speccy or kick a flukey goal.
Or is he just a good all round footballer that works hard and is pretty aggressive around the ball?
Any player comparisons?

Player comparison. Taller Jarrod Brander. Maybe if generous a taller Brent Staker.

Lads CDT is as combative and mobile as it gets for a bloke his size. The notion that he’s some certain bust isn’t accurate. Will be a good player but clearly doesn’t suit our needs.

CDT is the straight definition of a decent midfielder in a ruckmans body. The problem is he gets easily outbodied even against his draft class, has average ruck craft at best, isn't great overhead and isn't overly combative. Oh and he's undersized and of average athleticism (no huge leap)

His footy IQ is pretty good, he's normally very clean by hand and quite decent by foot. (can be a bit hit and miss) He has a lot of draftable attributes but he's not a first choice ruck.

He's not the best KPP in this draft let alone a top 2 pick.

Gotta disagree, i’d say he’s incredibly combative. Agree with your points otherwise though

He can definitely miss a goal if that helps.

Underselling Adam hunter a fair bit here.

Zaydyn Lockwood takes out the B&F for the Pioneers tonight. Very well deserved. In his final six games he averaged 23 disposals, 6 marks, 6 tackles and 21 HOs per game. Clearances and intercept marks would've been substantive in these games as well.
Tom Evans ran a close second.
A particular 17 year old father-son came 3rd in the count.
