We already have four third round picks, plus our first round pick, and currently 5 open list spots to take to the draft.

Yes we need points, but we need to consolidate picks, as we’re going to have more picks than what we can actually take in to the draft.

For what it’s worth, I also believe 16 for Starcevich is overs.

Unless we have a trade in the works that hasn’t got out yet, I would think 22 & 37 for Starcevich, 51 & 54, works (for us).
This guy just clearly a troll, I get we’re a welcoming bunch, but this guy has outworn his welcome a long time ago.

Funny how we hear all year that no one would trade value for Oz if we matched, the only reason he is worth that much is because he comes with free draft capital. But here we are, and Brizkent reckons Brisbane will just match for starcevich given the chance so should be fairly compensated.

You can’t make this shit up. Next we just need some more mansplaining about how the academies work and we will have gone full circle.

brizkent is one of those people who gets his kicks out of walking onto the battle field after the war has been won and goes around bayoneting the oppositions wounded as they lie on the ground.
Hey, I was here before any war, it’s just you and a couple of other threw a tanty and your toys out of the cot.

Apparently that’s not your offer either, according to recent media stories.
You've had you fun.

This is what I would do if I were in West Coast’s shoes.

Both teams are playing the unders/overs game.

Brisbane are asking for the Hawks pick, West Coast are offering their second round pick.

We’ll probably settle on your PP, then table the Oscar paper work.

End of the day, your club doesn’t want to re-sign Oscar at what we’re offering, and we don’t want to re-sign Starc at what you’re offering.

West Coast or which ever team ends up with your second round pick shouldn’t care if you hand over the PP, as the PP is right before your second round pick anyway, and will get swallowed up in us matching an academy bid.

It matters to us as it’s worth a few extra points.

I’d make it pretty straight forward. Take the priority pick for Starcevich and delist Robertson or don’t.

We’ll match what you offer Allen and you can decide whether you want him or not.

We can offer Starcevich another 100k a year and walk him to the PSD. He might not want to screw the club but is he really going to leave millions and security on the table to keep you happy? I doubt it.

Then maybe we can ask who Annables manager is, have a good chat on him before we bid on him at pick 1. You’re about 1500 points short at the moment but after Ah Chee compo and maybe splitting 19 it comes down to about 1000-1100

Luckily you can still trade two future first firsts to help get him. They won’t be worth much as most will consider them at the end of the first but you’ll be able to scrape enough points together for your boy.

We’ve got 1, we’ll have enough to trade for 6. The difference between the picks is negligible,

Question is who blinks first then isn’t it? I wouldn’t want to piss off the team with pick 1 though if I was in your position.

I already had enough of years of this, along with incessantly trying to sell Dev to us while downplaying Harley's midfield potential 2 years ago. Barely adds anything really relevant to our club or offers any thoughtful insights about our rebuild, despite being on our board because they're supposedly "interested in our rebuild". Rather spends more time discussing the academies or their own club.

now it's two seconds for starcevich? :D

Bit of a dog act by Brisbane. I wonder how Oscar feels knowing theyre using him as some sort of leverage in the Starc trade. I would be a bit pissed if I was him.

We should hold out on any deal with Brisbane until FA closes.

Starc is one hit away from being in a medically induced coma. I dont mind the idea of him coming as long as it costs us little. I'd be totally fine with us walking away from the deal and bidding on Annable with pick 1 too. Let Starc be Brisbane's problem.

Depends on his feelings about our club at this stage. Compare that to Baker allegedly wanting to ensure his old club got a fair deal from us despite them having a million other first round picks.

I suggest we just wait for them to lodge the Oscar free agency and go from there. If they trigger band 1 great, offer them the hawks second as a take it or leave it.

If it's band 2 match and force a trade or keep Oscar and the have enough cap space without Oscar to re-sign Starcevich and leave a gaping hole in the forward line.

We haven’t lodged any paperwork for Allen yet, so theoretically at this stage, have room for Starcevich.
Yet your club and allen would have agreed already on terms and $ I doubt you can walk that back .

Its a bit shit for allen to be used as a pawn in a bigger game before he has even joined .

These things happen in negotiations- clubs offer less than they’re prepared to pay or ask for more than they’re prepared to receive.

Eventually some middle ground is settled on and a deal gets done

Am I confident we’ll concede less ground than Brisbane do? Not particularly but I’m prepared to wait and see what happens and judge the trade if/when it happens

briztoon - your suggestion of 22 and 37 with some picks in the 50’s coming back is overs. Pick 22 on its own is arguably overs given in other circumstances you’d be receiving zilch for Starcevich but all things considered it’s fair. Although I’d still be asking for one of those late R3 picks you have because as you’ve posted you can’t hold all those picks and they also carry no points value

Probably best to leave it at that because you’re coming across as gloating somewhat and we could do without it

Everybody else, just calm the **** down. Nothing has been done yet

Or we match allen then lodge starcivich paperwork .

If...
Starc has said that he will only come to us if we compensate Brisbane adequately...

Then...
I would hope our captain would be doing the same the other way.

Brisbane, a back-to-back premier, are in a position to sign an a-grade full forward for free. Anything but a Band 1 compo and the Eagles match.

Meanwhile Starcevich is a sneeze away from another concussion and a career ended.

No issue Brisbane playing hard ball for Starcevich as we do need to trade for him. But not lodging Allen FA paperwork as a bargaining ploy? It's so dumb I don't think it can possibly be what is going on.

People cracking the shits at Brisbane for negotiating precisely how they want the Eagles to operate. Too funny.
You can hardly blame us the way the club has it seems always acted in good faith yet a lot of other clubs don't .

And here we are with a one win season

Then Just today we have Pick 16 for starc and a future 3 for Ryan being touted in the media . More than likely coming from those clubs.

Hardly an A grade FF!! FFS how come all our players are champions and all players at other clubs are over rated and not worth anything.
It’s bloody hilarious on here during this time of the year.
