Even Lyon doesn't understand it properly in that clip. There's after pick then end of round etc.

How do these guys who are paid to be experts on this stuff know less than the average nuffy on BigFooty?

Could picks 1, 2 could solve all GC's problems? For Curnow/Petracca, and/or getting ahead of academy bids.

Jed Walter for a handful of downgrades potentially.

I am almost certain we where tracking Stumpf in the MSD :heavycheck: when McCarthy appeared.
He is more the athletic CHB type at 197cm, had elite 20m sprint and vertical jump in last years combine but went undrafted.
A later developing prospect who you would stack away and develop.

Stumpf has come on nicely this year in the CTL.

Ainsworth is 200cm ruck/fwd who had a good championships playing mostly in the ruck and rotating forward, played a lot of juniors as a KPD and is very versatile on any line.

Sam Ainsworth started this season gone as Norwoods U /18 CHB, as he grew in height he was used as a ruck and further up the ground, but he has a grounding playing KPD.

With a late pick if we held one I would see him as an ideal prospect to add to our list once the mids are sorted.

In order for me : Ainsworth then Stumph.

If Ainsworth gets to the rookie draft, he'll be a bargain pickup. I'm not expecting him to, although there was more noise about him a month ago than there seems to be now.

Guy's played 23 games in two years and only really played 2 good games that entire time. The 5 goals against North where we stole that win in Tassie and the 4 goals against Geelong this year. I would've stormed the f*cking place if we gave this guy over 900k for 6 years with his degenerative knee and broken body.

If Brisbane can get his body right then fair play, but he's been busted here for two years and didn't even look to be getting any better.
yeah my thoughts too. Good on him for getting that kind of coin at his career point

A lot of these guys spend about 5 minutes a week doing research on the sport that they're paid handsomely to talk about.
Nah. All they do is talk in silos. Sen Melbourne am show with the two of them, 95% of talk is Melbourne club talk. Gary talk dees all year. Watson the bombers all year. It's nauseating

I'd be looking at only rookie spots at this stage.
We lack running players so much i couldn't justify a high pick for a kpd.
If we take a 4th pick in the ND sure, I'd like Curtin as a developing kpf but with what we've got on the list and with young coming in it should only be a rookie pick
Young’s recruitment buys some time on the need for a developing kpd in this draft.

Midfield is the top priority.

3 way trade:

WCE Give: 2, 34, 38
WCE Get: 5, 7

Ess Give: 5, 21, 30
Ess Get: 2

GCS Give: 7
GCS Get: 21, 30, 34, 38

WCE Draft:
1. Duursma
5. Sharp
7. Farrow
13. Dovaston
53. Williams
58. Banfield

We probably have a fair idea of who Richmond's taking with their 2 picks. If we can get who we want at 2 still at 5 this would be brilliant

It's why the AFL are so worried and concerned out head knocks ..... case in point, the cumulative effect can have latter life repercussions with mental capacity, or lack there of. ;)

I agree and later picks/rookie picks should be used on best available. If a kpd is the best option then go for it. If its a mid then go for it.
We do have a few mids from later picks already tho who look promising

I'm all for taking 1 and 2 to the draft.

If we think CDT is our guy use #2 on him. If we think Sharp is our guy use #2 on him. Ditto is we have a different name on our board. Just get the kids that we want.

I'd only be splitting picks if we get a very favourable deal and we still bank our first 2 preferred players.

Depending on what promises we have made we should be bidding on academy products too. Hoover up picks out of the draft and who knows what opportunities might shake out as the draft progresses.
Agree with this.

Keep pick 1 and 2 and just run down our draft board (including academy bids) and hopefully get 7 to use on a mid (Cumming/Sharp). Wrap it up with the NGAs and some rookie picks.

Should really be that simple from here.

Tim Watson getting schooled on Pick 2 compensation ..

When I heard it on Spotify I was surprised they actually posted the audio and thought surely they won’t post the video for it on socials.

Embarrassing stuff for paid ‘experts’, I would have buried that audio and vision and hoped no one dug it up.

First time poster here, how would the feel be if west coast held 1 and 2 and took Duursma and Robey? Both high potential mids I feel. Robey may be a bit too similar to Harley and Hewett though
Duursma's not a pure mid. He's a HBF/ winger. A lot of people dont want us using pick 1/2 on him because we dont need players in these positions as much as we need inside bulls.

Sharp should be our man. If he's half as much a contested beast as his draft profile suggests then he and Harley will be tearing the comp a new arseh*le in 5 years time.
