Appears many clubs not willing to fork out enormous coin to retain players and potentially setting themselves to bank the coin for when an opportunity opens that isn’t dominated by Heidelberg.

Banyule, NH & West Preston cupboards look bare heading in to pre season.
Several players in Division 1 open to moving as believe they are NO CHANCE of winning it at their club.

In this current environment, why would you fork out the cash when you know you're effectively playing for 2nd. Obviously anything can happen GF day, but we've been saying that for 4 years.

Banyule did have 2 19s teams last season with a lot stepping up to the seniors. I think to say the cupboard looks bare is extreme. Huge turnover of players allows for others to step in. We will have 2 19s again next season so while we are going through a transition with senior players I think we will be fine. Still a number of players to be added to our senior list through socials over the next few weeks

Ive heard rumours from multiple sources that some of the "retired" players might go around again for there transition year?

That’s fortunate but there has been a heavy exodus of proven players. Players that haven’t been good enough or weren’t ready will be asked to fill the void. IMO that makes the cupboard look a little bare. I wish them well.

By multiple sources you mean, chump had you in a verbal headlock down at Barklys and with every schooner there was another "source"

15 sources to be exact, i know the drill.

Heidelberg losing a lot of depth. Will still run away with senior flag, but this had to happen at some point with guys moving on for opportunity.

Few upset down Para Rd as they had Port Melbourne gun ruck/forward Jimmy Miller on their books last season hoping for a few games and when he leaves VFL he would play, only for him to retire from VFL and run into a sponsor at Balwyn and sign.

Exactly what Montmorency needed as well up forward.

They’ve picked up a couple of good players. But they have lost a lot quality. I think bottom 3-4 is pretty realistic
Of you finish 4th bottom then isn that 6th? And isn't that a spot out of finals?

Bottom two is a worry/fail - rest is close to finals most years. Top 1 or 2 sorted - blanket over the rest?

Yeh to finish 6th, the same as this year would be a very good effort considering the outs.

Yeh I think 6th is the absolute ceiling for them and would be a bloody good effort if they did that. But i agree id be thinking more bottom 3

Not to be picky, but wouldn't 4th bottom be 7th?

Also tend to think they will be few side.

Aren't all the clearances managed through PlayHQ system now?

I would think that there would be a feature that just spits out a spreadsheet with a list of clearances from that site - would imagine it's a 5 min job, so don't even need someone full time!

Heard on the grapevine - high profile opposition players are trying to head to the Bergs but they are having to turn them away.

It's getting ridiculous when one club can turn stars away because they are that spoiled for choice.
