It's not really up to people to try and demonstrate their opinions on a presidency that happened a decade ago to you to try and assure you of their consistency on the issue

A lot of people that were pro-Obama initially were for his progressive message he ran on, not the president he became.

It's interesting that you bring up Libya, because I distinctly remember the citizens celebrating Gaddafi's removal, yet you somehow view it as different when it's Venezuelans celebrating.

This time it'll be different though 👍

They get shot by their mates for ratting them out usually.
Yep and high-level ones get and put in solitary until they can rat out everyone else before usually being given a false identity and sent to retire on a beach somewhere.

Life isn't always fair but if you have to give up one to smoke them all out, that's what will happen.

You're the one making bold statements, mate! The burden of proof lies with you.
Well I had a brief search of this site so either they've been deleted, or nobody cared enough to comment on Libya's regime change back then.

Or they spelled Libya/Gaddafi wrong, which is possible.

It's almost like US foreign policy is uniparty, the person in the white house makes no difference (even if they ran on a campaign of being anti intervention), because the lust for power and imperialism within that government is too great to contain

it happened 15 years ago, I was a teenager and this is a football forum

I'm merely commenting on it. I never said I supported or didn't support it.

You're commenting in support of it. That means you support it. It's fine - we can all read. We can debate it in good faith, but only if you can back up when pushed, as opposed to deflections.

You a real pussy huh, spent the entire thread spamming post justifying the coup but still think you can weasel out of it

Every time the US does some imperialism, there's always some 50 year old white boomer playing defense like he's the secretary of defense of the US but he lives in Australia.

Is Maduro any worse than Trump's mass murdering good mate Netanyahu?

You know, speaking of consistency of positions.................

One party likes confederate flags and the other rainbow flags on their rockets.

So you've picked a side and automatically assume I've picked mine, despite saying geopolitics isn't something you should pick sides in?

Ok, here's my position.

Whilst I think it's a good thing Maduro's gone, forced regime change has proven to be disastrous in the past and there's no reasonable expectation that this time will be any different.

Regime change needs to come from within and for a country under a dictatorship such as Venezuela, that usually means civil war and 10s, if not 100s of thousands dead.

If(and it's a big IF) Venezuela can have a peaceful regime change and return to democracy then that would be a massive win but history indicates that's not the case.

It's why whilst I'd love to see Iran undergo a regime change also, I'd hate it to be as a result of foreign interference. It absolutely needs to come from within, so whilst it's great to see the euphoria of the Venezuelan people now that the dictator's gone, there needs to be genuine concern for what comes next because as I said earlier, history indicates it won't be good.

I hope Venezuela can buck the trend but I'm not expecting it to.

Got a source for that claim?
Of course not. Its not accurate.

BTW and for the record, I was vocally opposed to what the Obomber did, online and in RL.

But to claim he dropped more bombs than any other president is flat out wrong.

Hahaha if you posted that two hours ago we wouldn't be arguing. Jesus.

You said it was about fentanyl. Which is dumb. That's what kicked things off.

Not sure what I did to piss off Pete Hegseth but I was left out of the Signal chat on this one.
