This seems the obvious next step for any kind of underground resistance, to start taking out ICE agents when they're at home. There's no way the government can defend them all.

Having said that, despite all the rhetoric around having guns to defend themselves against the government, I'm not sure Americans ever will rise up.

For many, it's a comfortable society with lots of distractions and little margin for error economically. It's perfect for an authoritarian takeover.

Popular opposition has never actually been that successful in the USA. BLM, Occupy Wall Street, anti-Vietnam, anti-nuclear. They've all been successfully crushed publicly and electorally. Not since 1776 has there been a successful anti-authoritarian movement in the USA. In fact, it seems public protest has mostly had the impact of creating more of what they've been opposed to, to prove a political point.

Think of what has happened since the BLM protests. We've got openly racist people in office enacting openly racist policies.

The President and Vice President have publicly stated he will be cleared and is immune to charges. He won't be charged.

It won't stop someone else taking matters into their own hands, but that'd escalate things even further and is likely what Trump and Vance actually want. They are eagerly awaiting something to escalate it.
