LOL ......different maturity & experience level for this list now, then in 2024

List is 2 years & games more experienced ....we've added experience via the trade table .....so no, sorry you didn't get your "gotcha" moment

All Clubs get injuries, it depends on who, how critical to our structure ...and how long ....ours are relatively short-term
Not thinking about 2024

Looking forward and just making sure that excuses won't get retro-fitted to match our results in 2026

So.... This new fitness guy eh.... :drunk:
I'm hoping that we're being more cautious and resting players with even the slightest niggle rather than have them bore ahead, given that many struggled at the business end of last season

Learning from our mistakes

Hoping

So if we lose Dawson, Thilthorpe, and Rankine to longterm injuries in the next month.....you still wouldn't excuse performance levels ?

Seems a black & white position for you to take

The issue is, you counted injuries that didn’t have an impact on our losses. Ie Milera, we missed his run, expect he played early in the season when we went 0-4. There were others, I rebutted them too.

You can’t blame injuries that weren’t there when you already blamed the coach for going rouge bonkers.

Pretty sure he’s meaning you’re not going to use Keane, Curtin, minor hamstring concerns for Ah Chee and Rankine as excuses ……. And if the players you mentioned get injured at some stage, use their injuries as an excuse for losses even when they played…..like you did in 2024

I don't understand how he turned what is an obvious 'get on record' post into something he thought was an attempt at an immediate "gotcha".

Paranoid because of Waynes history coming back to bite him

You can see how it will play out. If we have a relatively poor year, but incur no further injuries with Waynus using injuries as an excuse because David King reckons Matty Nicks is an A grade coach, DABM will quote the post saying, "but you said this". And Waynus response will be, "I already rebutted that back in February, we supercoach players are just that little bit more astute than those who actually watch the games".

Yeah pretty much. People will cope and say we'll have some fresh players in the back half of the season but it won't matter if things keep going like this.

The cope is people writing off the season before it starts. Protecting their feelings from being hurt, that's how they cope.

Just what's there currently

The point is that no one was writing off 2024 early in the season

No one was saying injuries were making success impossible

In fact anyone saying when we lost Thilthorpe that the season was cursed and a waste of time would have been dismissed for toxic negativity. A Port supporter in disguise probably.

Yet a few months later... suddenly the preseason injuries were an insurmountable obstacle that made success impossible, everyone could have seen that. Nicks can't be blamed for the bottom 4 finish. In fact he was a genius to avoid relegation given the never before seen hardships that were obvious to all but just not mentioned once at the time

Just to clarify a sprain is a ligament injury (tear) and a strain is a muscle or muscle tendon injury (tear) both are usually graded 1, 2 or 3 with grade 1 being the lowest grade of injury so for a hamstring strain that would mean a tear of a small amount of hamstring muscle fibres. It's usually a 2 to 4 week injury with 3 being about average.
A grade 2 could be a 4 to 8 week injury,
a grade 3, which would be a serious tendon tear, could be 3 months +.
But they are all strains. Just as a complete ACL rupture is still a sprain(albeit grade 3).
You said, "...a strain is a muscle or muscle tendon injury (tear)": I said, "So a strain is a tear..."

I think the fact anyone would believe something so obviously a joke shows how delusional some people are when it comes to the AFL (or media) bias against us.
Hey, amigo, there are enough dumb people out there without your sarcasm making you sound like another one. Wise up.

I've reached a point where I will never think of this club as anything but trash until they're holding the premiership cup. I don't think I'm protecting myself, I've given up.

Surely it's more people reassessing based upon new information being available. I don't think we'll be any less wins yet than my first ladder prediction, but then I didn't factor in an explosion from Curtin. Some may have included that in their original prediction, so it would make sense to review that. I don't think we'd want any more injuries from our top dozen though.

Plus there's the swapping of Keane with Butts, who I like and I think should have played out the year in favour of Murray. But there's no hiding away from the fact that Keane was high up in the league for intercepts and also rebound 50s. Butts is good at what he does, but it's not the same as what Keane does, so there's a question mark in terms of how our intercept and drive from defensive 50 is going to be impacted.

For the record, I'd still predict us as around 6th based on the first 20 or so rounds of last year, but my ladder predictor had us finishing around 8th.

But I don't think anyone suggesting our current injuries are downgrading their expectations as a form of coping.
