you need to understand the sliding doors concept
I didn't ask anything about doors i just asked for a final margin, you need to understand that.

Also a dropping the ball and deliberate out of bounds missed, rough ten seconds for the Pies

Nope, all above board.

Srarc - only ever had eyes for the ball = not a free kick.

Also foot hit the ball when tackled but doesn't matter anyway because you only need to make an attempt, not actually kick the ball.

Wayward handball to a bloke metres in the clear.

All looks fine to me.

Hmmm think you need to take an "AFL rules refresher course" 😆

Hmmmm.

So the fact that in Collingwood's most recent game - a home Preliminary Final, after winning an away Qualifying Final - they pushed the eventual premiers until 6 minutes to go in the last quarter - isn't particularly relevant to whether they need to throw the baby out with the bathwater and play for draft picks in 2026 and beyond?

You're quite brilliant, MR Meow.
:tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy:

with 6 minutes to go, Lohmann kicked brisbanes 4th in a row & 6 of the last 8 goals, you seriously do pull some bullshit out of thin air.

Why don't you go and google the rules right now and see what you come up with?
Well there's this from AI for starters:

"A free kick is awarded against a player in possession who is legally tackled and fails to correctly dispose of the football (via kick or handball) under specific circumstances."

Here bud, section 18.6. Don't rely on AI, just read the actual rulebook.

For the avoidance of doubt, a Player does not elect to Incorrectly Dispose of the football when:
(a) the Player genuinely attempts to Correctly Dispose of the football;
(b) the Legal Tackle causes the football to be dislodged from the Player’s possession.

Is that game time or real time?

dont know dont care. all i know is, brisbane had more:

  • disposals
  • kicks
  • handballs
  • i50's
  • DE%
  • i50 E%
  • clearances
  • contested possessions
  • uncontested possessions
  • marks (36 more!!)
  • contested marks
  • tackles
  • goals
  • behinds
  • 9 more scoring shots

but yes, you were so, so close. you basically had them on toast. this year, with the recruiting of the mighty jack buller, you will soar past them.

Well you accused someone of making a false statement 🙄

Agree..for the most part.

The Lions burst out of the blocks in Q3, 4 goals in first 10 mins to take the lead.

Q4 Pies had stopped the bleeding, we actually breaking even at contest and clearance and Lions hadn't scored a goal yet in Q4 when Elliott incident occurred.

An Elliott free and he would have been having a shot to make it 11 goals to 11 goals, (Pies back within a kick) with 10 mins left and crowd roaring.

Shit happens, the free wasn't called and Brisbane went down the other end and goaled, 12 point turn-around and Lions out by 18 and quickly put the game to bed with another few quick goals.
Pies supporter don't seem to bring up how they got back into the game in the second quarter through the Zorko turnover created by a blatant ND push in the back that started the 6 goal run on.

Ultimately the score flattered the Pies through accurate kicking. Hard to win games kicking 5 goals in 3 quarters

your question is irrelevant
Why because you think so? It was a fair question to the poster i asked and you decided to jump in and not answer it as well.

irrelevant if that free was paid. We play a completely different game.

Stopped reading after this.

Thanks for your insightful response. Is your issue that I commented on your forward line or Howe being injured…again?

Your forward line is questionable at best. You have lost Mihocek and are relying on McStay and Membrey as your key forwards. They sure do instil the fear of god in other teams. You kicked a few hundred points less than the other finalists last year and Mihocek who has critical to your structure and kicked 30+ has gone.

And Hill who is critical to your run and carry is likely out for the season.

Nothing to see here…carry on 👍

because you do not understand the sliding doors concept

because you do not understand the sliding doors concept
You know that do you? Let me make it easier for you, the margin was 29 points and that's not close no matter how close it was at the 20 minute mark of the final quarter, Brissy did what they liked and made it look easy and that has nothing to do with any sliding door moment.

lol, you mean how you won 2 weeks prior against adelaide by a similar margin to lions v you, whilst beating them in essentially every single statistic, like brisbane did to you?

unreal you lot :tearsofjoy: .
i have explained it previously but because you are a Carlton supporter and seen a nuffy coach play the same game plan at the end of games for hte last 4 years to the detriment of your team i will explain it to you again.

At the end of close games, Macrae has 3 different game plans. When the margin is large we go full on attack, This means our defence is leaky because we have to score to win. If we are in front or very close we play a possession defensive type game to either try to keep it close and try and grind a win out.

We have been doing this for 4 years and its why we have won so many close games. Its not luck

Brisbane were certainly better than us last year and we were lucky to be close with them in the PF towards the end. Sometimes luck is all it takes, but it ran out.

Wouldn’t change being a Pies supporter for any other club. Gee, it feels good to have made a great choice of club when I was younger. This club has and will continue to bring me much joy.

McStay was not nicknamed "McSpray" by some Lions fans for no reason. When he's on he can play some great footy but most of the time a very frustrating player.

Rightly or wrongly, nobody really ever cares about stuff that happens in Q1 or Q2 of big games... probably as still plenty of time to change result.
Ultimately the score flattered the Pies through accurate kicking. Hard to win games kicking 5 goals in 3 quarters
Agree.

Brisbane were better than us.

But the narrative that they were smashing us in Q4 is false. They hadn't kicked a goal in the first half of Q4, and it was actually almost directly after the Elliott non-decision...when they rebounded when they scored.

It was then they quickly banged on a few in quick succession to kill the game.

Elliott non-decision...when they rebounded when they scored.
So after the umpire correctly adjudicated the rules Brisbane got a run on?

So you're saying you were relying on the umpires to incorrectly award a free kick to Elliott for Collingwood to get momentum, just like they did against Zorko?
