Opening round is so insanely unpopular. What is the actual reasoning or benefit behind it? I forget.

Was it because the NRL had their Vegas opening round on the same weekend, so it would otherwise be a free hit for them? I think that was on last weekend though.

The sucking up to Collingwood is a disgrace, but I guess that was because the broadcaster wanted a Victorian game.

I think it’s wildly successful. So much so in fact that they should get some other teams involved in to it to make it even better. Perhaps all of the teams that don’t play could get involved? Maybe call it round 1?
